Just returned from a fabulous four day stay at this lovely hotel. It is small and friendly with only 8 rooms.
We were upgraded to a canal view room with small balcony but all rooms were spotless and comfortable. The bed was large and the...More
We took the hotelier's advice and took a private water taxi to the hotel. It was a fantastic introduction to Venice, and since it was our first visit we found the hotel easily that way. The staff became friends immediately. They speak English and are...More
Despite only being a few minutes walk from everything, this hotel was peaceful in its residential area. We had a lovely family room with a comfortable bed, a single bed for our 2 year old and a pack and play for our <1 year old....More
Lovely place with very friendly staff. They were always there to help you. Pretty good location with practically all important destinations within walking distance. Travelers with stair climbing may not find it easy to climb the 20 odds steps. But overall the place is great...More

The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San
Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.

We found that if you buy a Alilaguna ticket from the airport, by the water jetty's for one way into Venice that is the best way. It costs 15 euros per person, per way. Take the Orange line, as they have 3 services, this one takes you to San Stae. It takes about 40 minutes.
Then buy yourself a 24/48hr ticket for the standard water taxi, as this gives you full access to the standard water taxi service. (You can also buy this at the airport).
Have a great time.
