My stay here was a spare of the moment arrangement, the staff were most helpful to allow me and my friend stay in the same room. We had a cute attic room which was comfortable and with a fold up bed added I was comfortable as was my friend. Situated between Rialto, academia and San Marcos: We walked till we...

I booked Venice for my girlfriends 21st, and the Locanda Art Deco came highly recommended by trip advisor & booking.com. And the reviews did not disappoint, the hotel was small but had immense character & charm like the rest of the city. The staff at the hotel were all so accommodating, the room was fantastic & the snack bar was...

We had no trouble finding the place despite my poor navigating skills :) just look up for the logos, you won't miss it :) Really nice cozy small hotell in the heart of Venice. Staff were great, Carlo from the reception (hope I remembered his name correctly) were extremely helpful recommending us places to visit and to eat in (the...

Not knowing what to expect beforehand, lacking stars for ranking, the visit to this place was very good. Very kind service, fairly good breakfast, clean rooms and hygienic bathroom. Personnel very attentive to your needs. Only minor point is that at least our room was a bit noisy.

Stayed here recently for 3 nights. We had arranged a late check in (which was very easy to sort out) and the manager had emailed me a map of the Locanda. It is not very hard to find, and is very close to a gelateria just on the Campo. Closest vaporetto stop is S Angelo (5 mins walk). Comfortable room...

The room was huge and plenty of space for our family. The place was hard to locate but in the end we found it thanks to some help from the hotel manager. We loved the location. The only downside was the Wi-fi which was intermittent at best.

Yes, hard to find....but isn't everything in Venice. Lovely little hotel with very helpful staff. One of the best sleeps we had in Europe. Quiet and a really good bed! Perfect place to stay before a cruise down the Brenta Canal

We have just stayed at the Art Deco with another couple, it is perfectly placed to explore Venice. Very friendly and helpful staff, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, lovely breakfast, it is quite basic and small but don't let that put you off it's a real gem and a bargain.

I am in agreement with what the other reviews say, good location, friendly and helpful staff, and I had a clean comfortable room. On my nit pick list there are a few things potential guests might like to know. Breakfast is good, but it's only served from 8am until 9:30 am. I you like to get up and out early,...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
