Our stay in this charming spot was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. The interest and care the proprietor demonstrates was evident in all the things we experienced. Others speak correctly of the ambience and charm that envelopes you as you enjoy the history and location. All true. But for us the icing on the cake was...

We spent a wonderful 50th anniversary overlooking the Grand Canal at Cima Rosa. I don't think we have ever enjoyed a hotel this much. The accommodations were excellent, the view was spectacular, the breakfasts were to-die-for, and the service was exceptional. Brittany, Valentina and Melody took wonderful care of our every need, and made excellent suggestions to help us enjoy...

My husband & I stayed at Cima Rosa during a recent visit to Venice and we could not have been more pleased with the accommodations, staff, location and amenities. From the moment we entered the courtyard we knew we were about to stay somewhere very special. Leading up to our stay, Brittany was very helpful & responsive over email and...

Two minute walk from San Stae vaporetto stop but incredibly peaceful location, with relaxing courtyard. Tastefully decorated, modern facilities combined with antique furniture. Spacious, light, comfortable breakfast/lounge area with 2 windows looking out to the Grand Canal. Guests have access to this all day, to make their own tea (provided), read and relax. Brittany, Melody and Valentina were wonderful hosts,...

We stayed at Cimarosa for our honeymoon in a grand canal room. The hotel is spotless and beautifully decorated, the views are impressive and breakfast was always great but the real stars of this place are the owner and staff. They were constantly friendly and full of great advice- Brittany booked us into most of the restaurants we ate at...

We stayed for three nights over my birthday, and were so happy with our choice. There is a reason this is ranked #1. First of all, the people there are fabulous. Valentina was incredibly kind and helpful and by the end of the stay we felt like we had made a friend. She offered a lot of good suggestions re:...

Yes, it's as good as the reviews. Great attention to detail and Brittany was so kind giving us her own highchair to use during our all too brief two nights in Venice. We found this gem through tripadvisor and it doesn't fail even high expectations. Met from the vaporetto stop as I mentioned we had lots of luggage and given...

Cima Rosa is a true treat. Perfectly located om the Grand Canal, a two minute’s walk from Vaporetto stop San Stae and yet an oasis of calm and comfort. We had one of the two interior rooms (not facing the Canal) and found it spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. Good bed, clean bathroom with shower, plenty of space to relax....

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
