It is rare that I come away from somewhere without finding some minor niggle but I have to say Cima Rosa is incomparable. Minutes away from the frenetic canals of Venice and you are in an oasis of calm. This small B&B is an absolute gem, tastefully appointed with clearly no expense spared but it is friendly, comfortable and relaxing....

We loved this beautiful old Palazzo on the Grand Canal. Its position in Santa Croce is away from the hubub of the main tourist area but easily accessible as the San Stae vaporetto stop was less than 5 minutes walk away and no bridges to cart our suitcases over either. Our room was large, comfortable, tastefully furnished and had canal...

My wife and I have been coming to Venice for some years as we have totally fallen for this much adored city. On our visits we had always been thrilled with our choice in accommodation and this had been from a stay in five star luxury to a small neighbourhood hotel and various choices in between. They all offered something...

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful B & B! This gorgeous historic building on the Grand Canal in a quiet, charming neighborhood has been beautifully updated with modern appointments, while maintaining it's medieval charm. You just couldn't ask for a prettier setting, from the beautiful courtyard entrance to the amazing canal views. Best of all was the incredibly...

CimaRosa is a beautiful guest house in a Palazzo on the Grand Canal. It's an old building tastefully modernised to a high standard. The room we stayed in had a view of the Grand Canal, a large private bathroom and a shared kitchen area to make proper tea and have a decent fridge. Breakfast was served in a separate room...

My wife and I stayed beginning of December 2015 for 3 nights in the very tastfully decorated Elegant Suite with views to the Grand Canal. The location of this classy Boutique B&B is perfect because it's in a quiet part of Venice without the big tourist crowds. The watertaxi stop is just a few minutes away from CimaRosa. There is...

The B&B is located really near the San Stae station. The location was perfect (walking distance of the most important monuments, whilst being away from the hoards of tourists). Brittany and Valentina were extremely kind and made you feel welcome and at home from the first minute you arrive. They also give you really good tips on what to see/do...

My husband and I stayed at the Cima Rosa in the autumn of last year. The memory has lingered and I feel compelled to write this review! Cima Rosa is a wonderful place to stay-views over the Grand Canal, spacious rooms, luxurious bed linen and freshly prepared breakfast. I could go on and on about it but suffice it to...

The trip my mother and I took to Venice was amazing because of our stay at Cima Rosa. What a beautiful little hidden gem this place is. We felt like we were staying in a castle right on the canal of Venice. The location was wonderful (only two blocks from the water taxi station) and the building and rooms were...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
