My husband and I spend the last part of our honeymoon here for 4 night. The location is perfect and quiet. The room was spacious and clean. The only letdown for us was that our window opened onto the entrance foyer, so if you had the window opened you heard everyone coming home late at night and the light was...

My fiancé and I stayed at Ca' Amadi in April for three nights. This bed and breakfast has large, clean rooms. It is in a good location. Breakfast was included and the price was very reasonable. We really enjoyed our stay.

My partner and i stayed at the Ca' Amadi for 3 nights from 25th April 2014. The hotel is extremely charming and the staff are very friendly and always helpful. Our room was beautifully decorated and extremely clean! Each morning, we had breakfast in the breakfast room with the balcony doors open overlooking the canal. The setting was perfect! The...

Ca' Amadi is very charming. My husband and I loved the location. It is away from Grand Canal, which is extremely busy. Free internet access which is a bonus. The cost of our stay was great. Breakfast was included. We stayed in a suite which was nice, but the noise level outside on the canal is unbelievable . I had...

This Inn is within a couple blocks of the Rialto Bridge, just off the Grand Canal, Yet it's quiet and charming with a very friendly and helpful staff. Our room was clean and comfortable and our window opened directly on to a canal. The historic significance of the building is captivating and the breakfast was wonderful. A destination and bargain...

We had four nights at Ca' Amadi from 6 to 10 April 2014. The location is superb being at the very heart of Venice near the Rialto Bridge. Like most places in Venice it is not easy to find so print off the map and have the telephone number on your mobile phone ready to ring when you get lost....

History is what we went to Venice for and we were pleased with the choice of Ca' Amadi with its connection to Marco Polo. Alberto was truly helpful without being intrusive. We had the interior room, so that our windows were on the courtyard side, for us there was no noise problem. We enjoyed the canal scenes on our walks...

I was a bit surprised and disappointed at the accommodations after reading so many excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. The B&B was located down a rather deserted and sketchy street and shared a courtyard with other apartments. My security concerns were alleviated over time but my initial impressions were not the best. We had the double deluxe with a canal view....

Dear Guest, thank you for letting us know your comments about our guest house. We're glad you appreciated the kindness of our staff, since making our guests feel at home is one of our main objective. This was the family home of Marco Polo and it has been lovingly and tastefully restored by new owner Alberto. Our room still has the original ceilings and some frescos from the 11th century! It also has heating and air-con and all the mod cons you'd expect from a good guesthouse. Some rooms face onto a canal, ours was facing...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
