Stayed 3 nights, lovely young man very helpful when we arrived giving us the choice of two rooms. Provided maps and information. The room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and quiet! Breakfast good choice, fresh bread, fruit, cereals etc., The bar is only small but offers nice wine and Prosecco. Ideally placed for everywhere, especially the bus station when arriving...

The front desk team. What a pleasure they were - sincere and absolutely helpful at every turn. We had a charming and quiet room in the annex just up the lane from the main building and we hope to get the same room next time we stay in May. The hotel frontage is right on the Grand Canal, close to...

Absolutely great staff, friendly and helpful. Located just across the Grand Canal from the train station and five minutes walk over the bridge. We had a terrific room looking out over the Grand Canal. With the aid of public water transport we explored all over Venice. The hotel staff gave us great advice. We really enjoyed our stay here and...

Booked this hotel after reading goods reviews on TripAdvisor and I am very happy with my stay on 7 to 9 November 16. The hotel is just 5 mins walk from the train station (great for girls travelling with big luggage) and 30 mins walk to St Mark's Square. We stayed in De Luxe Room and the view of the...

The have a good connection wth Moreno island glass factory, which is an interesting place to visit. The staffs are all friendly and helpful in every way. Breakfast was good and they prepared a breakfast box to go for us as we left...

For our 30th weeding anniversary, we stayed at the Antiche Figure. This was our third stay at this hotel which is always our first choice for many reasons. The location is fantastic. It is just few minutes from the train station and the vaporetto stop and a 10 minutes walk to the bus station at Piazza Roma. The rooms are...

We had one quick night in Venice and this hotel was perfectly situated across the canal from the train station (5 min walk). Venice is very walkable so we reached the main square in about 40 minutes which wasn't bad. We had an early flight the next day and the hotel is very close to the bus station (10 min...

Love this hotel. It is right on the canal. This hotel is very clean, the staff are very nice, warm and welcoming. They were helpful and responsive to our needs. They are also prompt in answering my emails. We upgraded to a room with a view and our room was huge as well as the bathroom. Much better looking than...

This hotel is charming and everything you would expect in Venice. The staff are exceptional and could not be more helpful, the room was beautifully furnished, warm and the towels changed every day. The breakfast was excellent with lots of fresh coffee. This is a gem of a place in a perfect location for all transport, the Vaporetti and a...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
