This is a beautiful hotel but more importantly the service is impeccable. From the moment we walked in we were treated graciously and kindly. The rooms are well appointed but the team went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and well looked after .. the breakfast in the morning always set us up for great day

We had such a lovely week here. The hotel was beautiful the staff friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We fell in love with Venice, the hotel and the staff. The location is fantastic and the hotels recommendations for restaurants and places to visit was exemplary. Thoroughly recommend!

Simply amazing! First of all, the location. You should understand that anything in Venice is a walking distance and if you arrive by a bus (highly recommend) it is just 3-4 min walk, with two little bridges to cross. There is some confusion about the porter service. It is not free and it is not provided by the hotel, but...

Special thanks to Barbara who spent 20 minutes with us helping us decide where the best restaurants are. The room was spacious, bright and luxurious! As previous reviews have mentioned the hotel is...

On our recent trip to Europe to take back to back Viking Cruises, we had the good fortune to arrive a day early in Venice. As a result, we chose our own hotel for that night. After much research, we chose the Hotel Moresco. The effort was well worth it. The charming hotel is 4 years new and looks like...

Wow! Just got back from two nights in Venice at Hotel Moresco. My boyfriend and I had a standard room while my parents had a superior room. Both well appointed with the major difference between the two being more room in the superior. The breakfast was wonderful as was the happy hour in the evenings but what makes the hotel...

The staff at the hotel are so so kind that I thought they were acting out! Rooms are absolutely beautiful, the decorations are stunning and the service is just great! The staff explains how everything works at the hotel, from the shower (which is amazing) to the happy hours and the key. It's very well located and the breakfast has...

Felt very special at Moresco hotel, the staff were attentive especially Alfredo and the other waiters at the breakfast and happy hour. These two events at the hotel were brilliant, yummy food and awesome service. Our triple room 203 was not the best felt a bit squeezed and the extra bed was awkward and small. No night light in the...

They went above and beyond in every aspect!! Getting to the hotel by train or bus is very easy. I really appreciated the maps (with pictures) for walking directions from both stations. It made it very easy to find. Upon arrival we were greeted and welcomed with a drink of our choice and snacks that were all delicious. From there...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
