I have NEVER stayed in a hotel as amazing as Hotel Moresco. Not only is the property gorgeous and quaint, the service is by far superior to any service we have every received elsewhere. They genuinely want you to have your every need met. We had a chilled bottle of Prosecco in our room which we took to the gardens...

1. Extremely convenient location; 5 minute walk from Piazzale Roma (we arrived by car after flying in to Marco Polo airport). 2. Gracious and hospitable staff. We arrived at 10:00 AM, the room was not quite ready therefore we were taken to a lovely garden in back for espresso and prosecco; within 15 minutes our room was ready and luggage...

Hotel Moresco completely exceeded our expectations. It's not the biggest or most extravagant hotel, so know this before you decide to book, but it's a boutique hotel and they do that perfectly. We were consistently impressed with the level of service they provided, and I could go on and on about our experience, but I'll try to keep my review...

A tranquil location amidst the buzz of the city, yet within a very short walk of a lively square, flanked by numerous restaurants and bars. Also within reach of the many high spots of the city including St Mark's Sq, a brisk 20 minute stroll away. After a heavy day sightseeing, the carefully decorated and well equipped rooms have everything...

Location - an easy walk from Piazzale Rome, across only two bridges, one of which had a ramp. Some may prefer to be closer to St Marks, but I felt it was a good balance for getting to other attractions such as the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and to access the cruise terminal. Staff - extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived...

Where to begin? From the moment you walk in, you'll be blown away. Both the lounge area and the outdoor courtyard are perfect spots to enjoy a welcome drink. The staff at the front desk make you feel welcome immediately. Don't be afraid to ask them for recommendations! We had one of our best meals of the entire trip due...

This is what a hotel should be. An experience that exceeded my expectations and left me second-guessing why I didn't book to stay longer. Reservations: quick and easy. Website has plenty of pictures of the guest rooms - all of which are individually decorated. Arriving at the hotel to a very warm greeting, we were offered a welcome drink in...

An absolutely wonderful Hotel, well presented and thoughtfully decorated. Being a great Hotel is one thing but to make it work, it requires great staff and those working in the Moresco were simply superb. Multi lingual, polite and attentive. From the top down it seems every detail has been considered and delivered to a very high standard. The whole package...

We stayed as a family of 8 booking 4 separate standard rooms and they didn't disappoint. The rooms were very spacious the layout was perfect and the room technology was impressive. The complimentary Prosecco on arrival in the room nicely chilled was a nice touch. There was also complementary coffee and water. The bathroom was a good size and the...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
