this hotel charges you on credit card, even you've canceled the booking months ago, and got their cancellation confirmation emails! I've sent mail to request them to refund to my credit with proof--their cancellation conformation emails, but still no response yet..... Be aware of your credit card bill! if you have booked this hotel and canceled it after.

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Room was basic with no frills. Bathroom was tiny. Overall, if you're in venice on a budget this hotel is ideal. Close to the shops and various restaurants. The train station is less than a 5 minute walk.

Close to train station. Was able to store our bags and go sight seeing before checkin time. Close to shops. Beds were comfortable. Ok for one overnight stay but bathroom shower was too small. Italian breakfast was included.

The staff was very welcoming, although the housekeeping and kitchen staff only spoke Italian. The free breakfast was a nice touch, although it consisted of only a few bread products and a drink. The rooms were very nice and spacious. The hotel was in a great location since it was near the train station, very easy to find, located near...

Hotel options: Basically, you have two options in Venice. Staying in Venice or nearby, Mestre. Mestre is cheaper, newer hotels and easier to navigate (no steps, bridges). Yet, Mestre to Venice requires taking the train. Why hassle with trains/train tickets? We spent the night before at Hotel ill Moro di Venezia, Venice, Italy. The hotel room was the size of...

The room and bathroom were very clean but the shower cubicle very small. The continental breakfast was just breads jams and coffee but enough to start the day. It is very near the railway station but if you arrive a piazzale roma I would recommend a porter for your bags as that new bridge over the canale grande is a...

I stopped here with my wife in May at the end of our holiday travelling Italy and Slovenia. The hotel website is very slick and professional BUT PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED! After arriving we soon noticed the room DID NOT have air conditioning as clearly stated on their website. We specifically picked this hotel due to this factor. Temperatures...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
