AquaB was certainly a hidden gem, but well situated, behind the main hotel, aprroximately half way between Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge, surrounded by many shops and restaurants. Room was tastefully decorated and the bathroom in particular was very spacious. Plenty of room for our family of 4 (kids, aged 5 & 7). Breakfast was brought up to...

Only minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge, and frankly pretty much most things. Extremely clean, breakfast is delivered to the room at the time you want per your order, staff are lovely, suites are spacious. Really can't fault it. Worth pointing out for anyone expecting a canal view there is no view from the room other than the small courtyard,...

Hotel is a bit difficult to find but i suppose that's normal for little streets of Venice, where Google maps cannot help you. As soon as we arrived there, the receptionists greet us with smiles and told us that they have upgraded our room to a deluxe, free of charge. If i was not working in a hotel, I would...

This was perfectly located, close to sights, water taxis and lots of restaurants. Rialto bridge was a 5 min walk and it's literally a 3 min walk to St Marks square which makes it quite convenient to walk there early to line up to go inside the basilica! The apartments are very clean and well maintained. Room service breakfast was...

We stayed at the Aqua B, attached to the Aqua Palace, for 3 days in Venice. It was an easy walk to both the Rialto Bridge and the San Marco Square. We stayed here after the Aqua Palace's last room was booked while we were on the phone with them trying to make a reservation. The lodging was roomy with...

Central location which is walkable from the train station. If you do not want to deal with the bridges and crowds with your luggage- then the water taxi to the Aqua Palace will put you around the corner from the Aqua B. The location is prefect to get away from the crowds and get a good nights sleep. It is...

We are at the end of our 4 night stay and Venice. Aqua B has provided a quite place to relax away from the crowds. Located close to Rialto and San Marco it means we are in a 'centre' or activity, but just in the back streets to provide solace. Breakfast is great and a solid selection. Cereals, coffee, juice...

Our first visit to Venice and could not have picked a better place to stay. The Aqua b has a central location and is close to restaurants, shops and bars but within a quiet area. The service and cleanliness was first class and enhanced by the excellent breakfast served in our room. We will certainly return to Venice as we thoroughly...

After an initial booking mixup, the manager was very quick to resolve the issue that had happened. We found AquaB fairly easily on our walk over from Piazzale Roma. We were greeted by a staff member who took our bags into the hotel and then escorted us to the check-in desk in the Aqua Palace hotel next door. The room...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
