We stayed four nights overall. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. It just so happens that we were fortunate to have amazing weather on our stay, but it did get a little chilly at night. Our room was super warm and cosy with a private ensuite. Breakfast was plentiful and served with an omelet very morning at 8h30. There...

Everyone was super friendly, Great breakfast with coffee, juice, cereals, fruit, sweets, omelets, etc. Our room was small, but super clean, warm, with air conditioning, hot shower, tv, etc. Wifi work great in our room but weak signal or non existing in the breakfast area. It's and old Venetian house so it can suffer a bit from noise insulation but...

We loved this place. It was close to the vaporetto station and one of the main streets for food and shops. We walked from the bus terminal. Room was onsuite and the bed was extremely comfortable.Francesco made a great omelette and gave us great tourist advice. We had a beautiful spring day island hopping. I would recommend Venice in March

We spent only one night in this b&b and it was a great experience. Very clean, the ensuite room was very with particolar classic fornitures. Good breakfast that can meet all needs. In case of problems, Francesco (b&b' s owner) is available to help. Very suggested place.

We wanted a b and b in a quiet neighbourhood - away from the tourist masses but close enough to all the sights to walk comfortably. AL saor turned out to be just that. Our room had all we needed, comfy with private bathroom and view into a typical residential sidestreet. The owners were in touch beforehand to explain that...

Al Soar was such a great find for us! We visited in January this year and had an amazing long weekend in Venice. We were sent helpful information and directions to find the B&B before we arrived and once we got there we were really happy with where we had chosen to stay. The room was large and very clean...

My wife and I stayed in Al Saor in January 2017 when it was very cold in Venice. We found Al Saor to be cosy and warm. We loved the simple breakfasts including the omelettes. Francesco was very thorough in the booking and arrival process. Al Saor is very central being only five minutes walk to the Rialto bridge. I...

Wonderful, great breakfast. You will not find a better location. Felt like a local.walking distance to lots of restaurants and shopping. Steps away from a main water taxi stop. Will definitely stay again.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed was large and the mattress firm for a good night's sleep. Robert and I had breakfast every morning on their delightful garden terrace. Christina greeted us every morning with a cheerful, "Buon giorno". We had a breakfast choice of omelets, juice, fruit, yogurt, breads, cereal, a few sweets and of course...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
