Incredibly helpful and friendly staff (Georgio); wonderful breakfast (no hot food, but still very filling European breakfast). You can't beat the location, right on the Grand Canal. Rooms were clean and spacious, by European standards. We rented the "Grand Canal" room, and it gave us a real sense for being in Venice. You can sit at the window and watch...

My favorite hotel in all of Italy! My family and I stayed here for two nights in October. My brother and fiancé had a double room, while my parents and I were given two rooms placed in the same corridor. In other words, we had a locked door which leads to a hallway. My room was off to the right,...

What a great little B&B. We had the superior room. Lovely and big and very clean. The owners are real gems. They helped us out with restaurants and were really really friendly. Breakfast was great usually finished off by looking over the Grand Canal....great views. We loved it.

We stayed in this little hotel (only 8 rooms) for 3 nights in a very cold and wet November... it even snowed while we were there! We didn't need much input from the staff at the hotel (though they were happy to check and print airport shuttle bus times from the internet), but I noticed them providing hints and tips...

Thanks to previous reviewers who recommended this! What a find! We frequently visit Venice but never thought that we would be able to find a reasonably priced room on the Grand Canal. We stayed in Room No 1 (the Junior Suite) and just soaked up the view! We agree with all the previous postings that this is the best place...

We just got back from staying 3 nights in Nov. 2005 at the Ca'Angeli. Found the property off of Trip Advisor. We would have to say it was the best find in Venice--even though it was hard to find once we got off from the water taxi. Be sure to get explicit directions from the property, before you depart. Our...

We stayed a single night in Venice but it was wonderful. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly; the room was comfortable and pretty (and great for the price); and the full breakfast was a treat. Thanks very much!

We stayed at Ca' Angeli on our last night in Venice, the end of our honeymoon... and what a perfect hotel to end a perfect vacation. It's located in the Rialto bridge area, and was really quite tricky to find. The nameplate by the entrance gate is quite small, and if I hadn't been enchanted by the garden behind the...

Five days in Venice enjoying the wonderful hospitality and handy location of Ca'Angeli was a treat worth paying for. The grand canal view from the lounge is stunning. Take your host's advice on where to eat and what to see - he is a true Venetian and will answer any query. October is a great time to visit - not...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
