The hotel is very good very clean and very confortable. The staff is very nice and helpful (except for the bold guy who sits at reception some times, who is rude). One point to mention about the kindness of the staff: We had to leave at 6:30 am in our last day there, so the night before we talk to...

We stayed at this hotel during a round trip in Italy and the main reason we have chosen it was because of it's location (near the train station and the main boat transfer station) and it's price-value offer. The hotel style may not work for everyone once it is heavy baroque with tapestery and red velvet all over the room...

We stayed here in August with 2 other couples. The check-in was easy and they stored our bags until our rooms were ready. Seemed sketchy, as we left them in a hallway, but everything worked out. The rooms are typical european small, but nicely appointed. The air conditioner tried hard to keep up with the warmer temps and was sufficient...

We have previously stayed across the canal, however, this time we chose to be railway side for ease. The hotel is approx 300m (?) from the station. Check in was welcoming with 2 lovely ladies at the front desk. A smile and greeting always, however, as many other reviewers have mentioned, the chap is another story.... Our room was comfortable...

This hotel was so very handy to Venice Santa Lucia Train Station and the Vaporettos. The reception staff were extremely helpful and we had many meals at their recommended restaurants. The room was adequate and the breakfast was good. We'd definitely stay there again.

We travelled to Venice in September of this year. We checked in and the girl at the desk was extremely friendly and helpful. We returned after a day out and found the air conditioning not working. I tried to speak with the fellow on the desk but he only looked at me as if there was something wrong with me....

It was good, fantastic located really central in Venice, close to the train station. The street is quite loud filled with people but after 10 pm it gets more quiet. Elegant and friendly. You should go here.

Spent 3 nights here before joining a cruise , perfect location . Very close to the St Lucia train station, water taxi stops just outside the front door and if you don't have massive luggage an easy and quick walk from the bus station at Piazzale Roma. The rooms are very Venetian , clean but not huge. The front desk...

Small rooms, and no elevator to top floor so it means dragging your suitcase up and down stairs and steps. Choose a lower floor. Small rooms and very small bathrooms, but you get that in 3 star hotels in all of Europe. Old man at reception was extremely rude. I would not stay there again if I ever go to...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
