An excellent hotel. Clean and very quiet with helpful staff. We enjoyed the gentle stroll from the hotel to all the city attractions. We would strongly recommend this Hotel to others when visiting Venice.

Just got back from an excellent 4 night stay. The staff are all really helpful, friendly and polite. We were given a map on arrival and talked through nearby restaurants and places to visit. The room was immaculately clean, large and comfortable. The bathroom was also clean with a good shower and a few toiletries included. We were able to...

The hotel is in a beautiful and quiet location yet it is a short walk from the main tourist spots and a short walk from some amazing restaurants and bars. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and welcoming and were always on hand to answer any questions or give any advice on places to go and to eat....

My Wife, daughter and I Stayed during spring break. We loved the hotel. We like experiencing the local flavor, and this hotel felt like a small venice hotel, not a chain hotel. People were friendly, nice european Breakfast. We walked up 3 flights of stairs, to our room. Room had character with wood beams. Bathroom was nice sized, but had...

The hotel is located just outside the busy part of the city. It is a 15 minute walk or you can get the water taxi about five minutes away. Breakfasts were continental and served fresh breads, cheese, meats and cereals. Seating is very limited and when my children went up to get their breakfast the staff cleared the table and...

This hotel provides a comfortable, friendly service in excellent accommodation. The continental breakfast is of a good standard and is plentiful. The location is perfect, however beware of GPS coordinates. 10 minutes walk to the main attractions makes it the perfect choice.

The Dorsoduro gives a traveler to Venice a respite from the chaos that surrounds many areas surrounding St. Mark's Square, and Hotel Tiziano is a perfect place to escape and refresh before diving back in. We spent three wonderful days in Venice, and were more than satisfied with the comfort, security, and warm reception we received at the hotel. The...

I've been to Venice about fifteen times and Dorsoduro is my favorite part because it's not a museum but a place where real Venetians live and breathe. So if you want to stay in the middle of tourist hell where you can engage with Germans, Japanese, and frustrated Americans who can't find McDonalds, this is NOT a place for you....

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
