While it was a little like staying in someone's Italian nona's bedroom, we really enjoyed our stay. The room was nicely decorated in an old Italian style. Bathroom was great - included a bath which was brilliant! Breakfast delicious. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would recommend. One of the best options for this price range in beautiful Venice.

We stayed in the 'Mignon Rouge Apartment' which is 5 minutes away from the main hotel. It has 3 bedrooms & a kitchen. The apartment is decorated in an older traditional Venetian style. It's a little worn and dated but is clean and has everything you need. We liked it because you really get the feeling of what it is...

We stayed in the apartment some minutes away from the hotel. Loooved the antique furniture, it looks as if it was made for a princess! Location is top. Would go there again :). The reason why I cannot give the full 5 stars is because I heard that the booking was a hustle. We were a large group, but something...

A charming hotel in a central location. We booked the small twin room, it was very small but had the unexpected bonus of a private roof terrace. This was a lovely spot to sit with a glass of wine in the evenings, listening to the sounds of the neighbourhood. Breakfast was adequate, a little more choice would have been appreciated....

The reviews here are spot on. Good value for Venice. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff willing to go above and beyond to take care of guests. Good breakfast on cool little courtyard with great service. Relatively easy walk from train station or quick water taxi ride. Easy walk to catch water taxi either on Grand Canal or to Murano/Burano etc.....

The location of this hotel is great- not too far from the train station (either about a 15-20min walk or 5 minute ride by the water taxi (#1) which stops at Ca D'Oro near the hotel. It is also easy to walk to Rialto bridge and San Marco from here. The rooms at the hotel are a little bigger than...

This is a small and ideal little hotel. It offers a lovely continental breakfast with lovely coffee. The staff were really nice and helpful. We had a lovely stay. Our room and hotel is small which was as we expected and as you explore Venice you will see that a lot of venues in Venice are small. The location is...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
