Ca' Dogaressa is the perfect hotel in Venice. We were very well taken care of by the owner and his staff. The room was perfect. The hotel is situated by one of the canals in Canareggio and you can take your breakfast by the canal watching the barges, vaporettos and water taxis sailing by. In the afternoon you can order...

Stayed here for the weekend and got to say it was perfect, great to get from and to the airport and close enough to walk to eveything else in venice. The rooms are great, the breakfast was really nice and the owners were very friendly. Would stay here again and would reccomend to anyone.

We had a night in this hotel. The hotel was far than expected to the train station. The room was clean but didn't have any view at all. There was a weird noise in the bathroom. We planned to cook breakfast in the shared kitchen but the hop was broken. All in all, the hotel was no where near my...

My husband and I stayed here last week and enjoyed the quiet and convenient location. The customer service was great, our room was ready early and they let us store our luggage on our last day before our train. The room was lovely and they provided toiletries and hair dryer. Only downside was the walls were thin and we could...

LOVED the location! Staff was so kind and helpful! The view from our room was STUNNING! Bed wasn't super comfortable. Breakfast was great! Had it's own style! Fun stay! Bathroom was clean but only had a tub!

Nice and clean hotel. Nicely decorated, adds to the Venice atmosphere. Very good location. About 2 minute away from the water bus stop. Very easy to get to airport or any other part of the island. Staff are nice. The breakfast is poor. You get a croissant and a coffee. A toast in a pack available with jam / Nutella....

Stayed here for 3 nights and would highly recommend to others. The room that we stayed in was upgraded and was very big and spacious overlooking the Canareggio Canal. Great location a few minutes walk to Guglie water bus stop. St Marks Square is a 20 minute walk away.

I really liked this hotel. Daniel who checked me in was very helpful and gave a map of the city and a guide on what's on in Venice. I was only there for two days but the room was spacious and really liked the heated towel rail. It came in handy to dry my runners after walking in the rain...

We loved this hotel! It's very close to the vaporetto stop which was fantastic as we were cold, groggy, and disoriented when we arrived in Venice. Our room was downstairs which initially felt as though it wasn't quite private enough, and our room had a view of a brick wall so that wasn't really fun. However, the room itself was...

The hotel is a 10min walk from the train station and about 20min walk to major sites i.e. Rialto Bridge, St. Mark's Square. The Guglie waterbus station however, is only a few meters away. If you prefer staying in an area a bit less crowded, and you enjoy walking, this hotel would be a good fit for you. It is...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
