Friendly hotel in an excellent location for an amazing price. Enjoyed our stay but if we go again, and as we are British, would take our own tea bags. If booking this hotel book direct via their own website for the extras but be prepared to pursue them once you are there.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel with our son and his family. We had two family rooms between us and the staff could not have been more helpful is arranging the various beds to cater for our grandchildren. The rooms were large with high ceilings and both bathrooms were well equipped, altho' as usual, we could have done...

The hotel staff were polite, warm and helpful. We had a spacious and warm room with a clean and tidy bathroom. The breakfast nook was a treat with a steady flow of breakfast delights. The location is good and it was easy to walk to the main attractions. We will certainly return to stay at the hotel the next time...

Stayed here with my girlfriend on New Years Day. Only had 1 night booked but the staff couldn't have done anymore for us. Room was spacious & had everything we wished for. Location was also great. Fab hotel that will be first on our list to book next time we visit beautiful Venice. Thanks for a great stay.

Our stay in Venice was a fantastic experience which was only enhanced with the care and attention given by the staff. Our room was superb and the location was ideal for access to all the areas we wished to see. We will certainly be back and would highly recommend palazzo Vitturi as a base for any Venice visit

I was very much impressed by the absolutely helpful staff. Particularly Giulia researched so much for us and helped us to make our stay in Venice during Christmas very special. Santa Claus also came for a visit and left gifts underneath the Christmas tree for every room, which was a charming idea. The hotel was very clean.

It is the second time I visit Venice and the hotel. We had to drive through Italy to Germany. We decided to spend the night in Venice as a stop. The hotel is in a strategic position as it is 500 meters both from Rialto bridge and from St. Marco plaza. They were expecting us even if we had to...

We recently spent three nights at the Palazzon Vitturi Hotel. The location is excellent; about 10 minutes walk from St Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge. The room was very large and comfortable, but was let down by a lack of shelves, hooks and other practicalities, most especially in the bathroom. This is a common failing in many hotels. We...

We stayed just one night with our two adult kids after booking the room online direct with the hotel. Parked the car in one of the huge carparks available as you enter Venice, also pre booked online, and caught the vaporetto just near the car park. Expect a bit of a walk with your luggage, about 15 minutes, mind you,...

It was a rainy end-november week-end. Dreary weather on a dead month, we thought, would have shielded us a bit from the tourist mobs that besiege Venice nearly all-year-around. Not the least, thousands of tourists still crowded the "calli" like it were a popular Summer break. Luckily Palazzo Vitturi represented a safe haven where to retreat to relax and coil...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
