Our host was very easy to deal with - friendly and provided a great breakfast. This is a good value and good location hotel. My only criticism is that it is hard to find! - needs a bigger sign on the front door. I'd stay...More

I'd call this an apartment not a hotel firstly.
The location is spot on, not too noisy, close to the waterbus connection on the grand canal and 5 mins walk from St. Marks Square. The man that met us from the water bus stop near...More
We enjoyed this 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom stay and found our way around Venice. Communication was a small challenge as we were told en route which vaporetto stop to use instead of the address we thought we had booked. The hosts were kind to instruct...More
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

I did your same mistake...I thought every rooms in the dependance were like the one in the pic. Unlikely it is not the true....I think that is the largest one on the roof but I' m not sure. The one I booked for ( thinking it was the one) was very small and without a lot of forniture you can see in the other.

There is actually no reception desk at all, as such. We texted when we arrived and were sent a code to get into the door, so I suggest you do the same, or text at some earlier stage to explain this to them. Once we had the code everything was fine. We only saw the owner in the morning when he brought breakfast to the room, and when we were leaving. He was very nice :0)
