Well situated in between St Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge on Calle dei Fabbri and quite easy to find. This is a small guest house type of accommodation. With the emphasis on small, I booked a standard double room and it was teeny tiny, thankfully I was by myself and only staying one night. The room was clean and the...

Stayed here for one night with my husband & 2 girls. Had a little trouble finding it as all the streets look the same and it's literally just a brown door. Room was large with TV, hairdryer (not great!) big shower. Hotel is dated but lovely. Great location. Lady on reception & at breakfast was nice. My girls loved their...

offers an unbeatable central location that is in walking distance of several restaurants, sights and the waterbus, friendly staff, good breakfast and faded but comfortable rooms that are an excellent value

I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. I booked a triple room (3) and paid for it in full the day before i was due to arrive £902. Confirmed to the receptionist i would not arrive until 11.30pm. He said everything was fine that would not be a problem. On arrival at 00.03hrs we were charged €30 for late...

Visited this hotel 28th-30th August and thought it was excellent value for money. We couldn't find the hotel when we arrived so I called them and the lady on reception walked down the street to find us and take us to the hotel. She then proceeded to carry my case up the 2 flights of stairs even though we insisted...

The family room with two floors was great, the top floor was nice for the kids, the location between Rialto and San Marco is perfect. Friendly service, nice breakfast was included. Perfect for the short city trip!

I booked this hotel for July, the loft room because we had our two kids, age 12 and 13 with us. My sister and her daughter were in a standard room next door. It was hot outside and the air conditioning in the loft did not work at all. We called for help and someone came but did nothing but...

The accomodation was quite ok, no problem during the stay. They just charged significantly larger amount my card than on confirmed booking. The hotel accepted it was a mistake, but never credited it even reminded couple of times. Pay cash, it is not safe to use a card with them

A few minutes walk from the Rialto stop of the water bus, close to the San Marco square. Old house with authentic decor. Family units available. Narrow steps, but not too bad. Very friendly staff. Breakfast with limited choice. Good value for money. Overall very good.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
