Nothing important to say. The receptionist very nice and polite lady but the maid was very selfish. I will think twice if I have to stay there if I have to go back in Venice. You have to walk quite a bit with the luggage.

We stayed at this tiny hotel located on the first floor in the middle of a busy market street in the Canneregio district of Venice. We actually came across this hotel by sheer luck. The air conditioning was not working in the hotel we had originally booked, and September in Venice is warm so it was unacceptable. So we walked...

We chose this hotel because it was in walking distance of the train. It suited it's purpose and Wes both clean and welcoming. Breakfast is served and you may have to share a bathroom but it's worth not having to waste your time finding it or getting yourself to the train when you leave. Venice is easy to navigate and...

Ultimately this is a hostel, but the room was very spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. Breakfast is not included in the price of the room. You can pay an extra €5 for breakfast, but I'd avoid that if I were you. It's very basic and not very nice. But it was very near the train station and some...

Well, as I concisely said, nothing was impressed us. The receptionist lady was very friendly but I expect her to communicate better. I would recommend it to those who wanna have a good location for a short trip.

We enjoyed our stay during our 2 day visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was tidy, clean and good value for the price. I can recommend this for a short stay. Very well located, close to the station and shops.

The location was pretty convenient – as soon as we got off the train, it took about 3 minutes to walk there. The downside was the space itself... luckily, there was air conditioning, but the towels were hard, not soft, and the shower was awkward in that there wasn't a convenient place to put a bar of soap (if you plan...

Perfect location, just a couple of minutes from train station and 10 mins from central Venice. Clean room with air con too which was great. Breakfast wasn't great, but better than nothing I suppose! Would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for somewhere cheap yet clean.

We were on a budget and had booked a room for 3 with shared bathroom. The lady at the reception was very nice and professional. The rooms were very clean with basic amenities as promised. It was air conditioned and the wifi was decent. We stayed for one night and was more than satisfied with our stay. It was very...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

“The shower room had a broken lock and when i got stuck one evening, we went down to call for help. The man at reception was not pleased and accused us of breaking the door. He used indecent language and would not accept that the lock was broken initially.”
