Absolutely lovely hotel. We were a bit worried about the location (booked by agent) but within a few minutes walk plenty of life. Shops and good restaurants about 6 minute walk, bars and smaller eating places 3 minute walk. Water bus stops just beyond the 6 min walk, or behind hotel a couple of minutes for different route. Room we...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 28 May 2016

The location was quiet and drenched in history. The hotel was beautiful, very clean, very comfortable, very well equipped and you had a sense of travelling back in time to the soul of the Orient Express. The staff were magnificent - very helpful, extremely efficient and fluent in many languages. The room was ultra comfortable, very quiet and excellently equipped....

The hotel is out of the main bustle of Venice centre which is a welcome relief at the end of a hot day sightseeing. It is a really pretty exterior and sitting out on the pavement for an evening drink is lovely. The rooms are fine, the breakfast is very ordinary but the real disappointment is the level of help...

My husband and I stayed here for the first few nights of our honeymoon and we were very pleased with this hotel. The decor inside the room was quaint, warm and reflective of the venician romance that filled the streets. The breakfast bar was generous and fresh and we loved the DIY coffee machine. The location was fantastic, only steps...

Charming hotel with the most friendly staff!! We will definitely stay here again. Our room was clean, spacious, and beautiful. Most importantly it was quiet at night and in the morning! It was also close to great local bars and restaurants!!! So happy we chose this side of Venice to stay, and particularly happy we chose this Hotel!!!

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable on the 1st floor. There was no view from the window. There was very little natural daylight. No grab handle over the bath. No tea, coffee making facility. Breakfast was good with a variety of hot and cold food in a very pleasant room. Staff were excellent, Very helpful.

Arrived on 14th May 2017 and had a warm helpful welcome. We had sent our main suitcase on via courier and that had arrived days before and stored free of charge. We had the Junior suite, what a lovely room, we were treated like royalty on our first visit to Venice. All the staff were friendly and helpful with good...

We had a lovely 3 day stay and enjoyed the location, the feel of the hotel, the helpful staff and very good restaurants. About 15 minutes walk from Rialto and 25 from st marks the hotel is away from the busiest areas which really suited us and meant that the local restaurants were trying much harder. We had booked a...

I was very pleased with my first-time stay at this charming hotel. The staff is helpful and professional. The room was nicely decorated with a comfortable bed and sparkling, pristine, modern bathroom, with an excellent shower (not always found in Venice). We enjoyed the breakfasts -- above average for hotel buffets -- and the bar was a cozy way to...

This was my third visit to this beautiful hotel.,which is located in a quiet residential area. Every single person who works at this hotel from those on reception, the waiting staff, cleaners and Porter are so helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet is excellent with lots of choice. Our room was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, and the little extras like...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
