Spent 5 nights at this lovely clean, friendly hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to everyone as in very good location to explore Venice. Maybe useful to update directions on your website to let your guest know that you are at San Marciola stop when arriving by the water bus.

Having read the reviews we thought the hotel would be good. However, the service went beyond our expectations and was just amazing. On checking in the reception staff made a point of spending time with us and explaining about the area and what to see and how best to get to places. They recommended a fantastic restaurant for my birthday... More

Venice was our last three nights stay in Italy and we hoped for a memorable time. Our son booked us in the Mori and we are thankful he did. We had a Superior room, and although it didn't overlook a canal, the room was fantastic. Roomy, clean, and inspiring. Plenty of storage, two TVs, separate sitting area, and a very... More

We stayed here from 19th-23rd November, nice hotel in a quiet location with restaurants and shops close by. The reception staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are comfortable and clean, unfortunately we had a couple of mosquitos squatting in our room and my husband was almost eaten alive, do not open the windows. The breakfast was very nice... More

We had a lovely spacious room overlooking a quiet canal with only the noise of the local population going about their business. Apart from the others staying in the hotel, there seemed to be very few tourists around. What we enjoyed most was the welcome we received on arrival, and the helpful and friendly service we received whenever we sought... More

This small hotel is located in the old Jewish Quarter. A bit far from the usual tourist sites, but much quieter than other hotels I have stayed in. The desk staff was friendly, very helpful and spoke good English. The included breakfast was quite good for a small hotel. It did include hot dishes. The dining area was very clean... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
