Very congenial staff willing to help with travel directions and tips. Rooms are excellent with some with small balconies and views of the nearby canal. We had a chance to sample both and suggest the canal view just for its ambience although the room without the canal view was larger. While not on the beaten path, the hotel is actually...

We stayed here for three nights in July, and only wish it had been longer. The B & B is beautifully presented, the rooms are just a delight. Lovely bathrooms with all up to date fixtures and fittings. Large bedroom with a lovely ambience and a lovely balcony looking out onto the canal. Sabina is a delight, so friendly and...

Wonderful stay at this B&B. Staff very friendly and helpful. Sabina even helped us with all of our luggage from this 50 day trip (to and from the water taxi).

We stayed in a B&B 'Ca Bonvicini' in Santa Croce, which was quietly situated just outside the hustle and bustle of the heart of San Marco, yet close enough to explore the best of Venice. The room at the top of the house was small yet we had the benefit of our own roof terrace - perfect breakfast in the...

For our first trip to Venice we were entranced by this elegant little B&B. We paid a few euros extra for the canal view and we were not disappointed. We spent three weeks touring Italy and this B&B and Venice was by far the most romantic experience.

We stayed at Ca Bonvinini for 3 nights recently for my partners 30th birthday present. The BandB is located perfectly in San Polo/Santa Croce. You can walk to all sights and areas without having to put up with the immense crowds and inflated prices that you would experience elsewhere. Rialto Bridge is about 1 mins walk (once you have figured...

My wife and I recently spent a few days at the Ca' Bonvinici in Venice. We really enjoyed our stay. While the rooms are a bit opulent, they truly have the feel of old world Venice, and help you truly take in the surrounding atmosphere. The room was large, and we found the pictures on the website to be very...

Very romantic place to stay. Found it very quiet yet easy to access all the sites within Venice within a 10 minute walk. Ca' Bonvicini staff are very pleasant and easy for us as english speaking visitors. Breakfast is simple, and the B&B is very quiet all day long, especially in the evening as there is no staff present (you...

Our vaporetto stop was San Stae and with our luggage on wheels, clip clopping behind us we made our way though the stone passageways, over tiny bridges experiencing the feeling of being in a maze that is so typical of Venice. The narrowness of the last left turn led us to brass plate on a door- Ca' Bonvicini. Upon entering...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
