We booked our room for one night as we flew in before our Cruise was to leave. Excellent room close to everything, water taxis, The Rialto, shops and restaurants. Breakfast was fantastic, we we're running late but he still served us breakfast and he stopped to chat and his wife joined us and was telling us about Venice and the...

Residenza degli Angeli is a very good cheap option for Venice where the hotel rates are sky-high. The room was very nice sized and was clean. The host were very helpful with everything. Breakfast was on the lighter side with no eggs or meat. We had quite a bit of difficulty locating this place once we got off the boat....

We enjoyed our stay very much at Residenzia del Angeli . The owners were excellent in communication from when I made the reservation until check out .the included breakfast was perfect for jump starting our days. The location is in a fantastic, quiet neighborhood walking distance to 2 vaporetto stops , and about 10 minutes to Rialto . Would not...

Best B&B in Venice and all Italia! Mario, the B&B owner, is very accommodating and always available 24/7; he even picked us up at the waterbus port when we arrived. He gave a small orientation about the island + a map to help us get around the place easily. His place is very clean and cosy. Breakfast is pleasant. It's...

Stayed there for 2 nights with 2 friends. The room was clean and nice. However, had a little bit trouble in controlling the heater, perhaps we were not from Italy and dont really understand how did it function. But when we explain to the owner (message), he replied instantly. The breakfast was tasty - nice selection of breads and yogurts,...

As always the success of any location lies with the people. This B&B is owned and managed by a great host (Mario) who is very helpful and understanding. We were three of us and our stay was very comfortable and economical

A stunning, local place to stay! Mario and Esmerelda made us truly feel at home, and gave us the local experience. The room is just gorgeous in the classic Venetian style. Can't recommend it highly enough, and can't wait to stay there again one day in the future. Thanks for making our stay so wonderful!

Mario and Esmeralda's home is very nice and has everything you need for a trip to Venice. Mario was nice enough to pick us up from the water taxi stop and gave us a map of Venice so that we could navigate around. The shared bathroom was not a problem at all - did not see anyone else use it...

Had a triple room for one adult and 2 kids. Room simply furnished. Marble type floor with rug. Satellite TV. Double bed (with 2 single matresses) plus single. Shared shower room, which was mmaculate. Clean and tidy. Good continental breakfast. 61E per night (inc city tax). Good value. Difficult to find even with GPS map. Nothing to indicate it's a...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our Bed & Breakfast finds itself in the center of Venice, 5 minutes walking from the famous Rialto bridge, and 15 minutes walking from Piazza San Marco. We are close to the main fish market place where there is a public transport gondola service which enables everyone to cross the Grand Canal for 2 euros per person. Our home is located in one of the oldest areas of Venice, where most houses are from the 13th century. Indeed Venetians used to leave originally in Torcello island, and then decided from the 8th century to move from the island of Torcello, more exposed to the Barbars invasions, to settle in the current Rialto area. Esmeralda and Mario, the owners who personally attend all guests during check-in, check-out and breakfast time, will answer all your questions and help you take most advantage of your stay in Venice. ... more   less
