The place is EXTREMELY pricey for what it provides, service is bad, breakfast was supermarket packaged toast, fruit and juice and just not good so after the first day we went some place else to have breakfast. Duvet in both rooms did not have duvet cover in fact duvet in one room was coloured and dirty. We stayed in the...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

We had the pleasure of 3 nights at Ca' dei Dogi. The service was perfect. We were running in the Venice 10km and were up way too early for breakfast and the girl on reception (whose name is completely escaping me, sorry) went out of her way to make sure we had something to eat for when we got back...

I enjoyed this hotel a lot. The employees were all very friendly and helpful; our room was nice with a double bed and an additional alcove type room with a single bed as well as a small private terrace. The room was very clean and had a safe, mini bar and coffee/tea maker. The only drawback would be the lack...

Fantasting location next to Dogi's Palace. Beautiful room, nice friendly people and service. Strong recommendation. Easy to get from the airport, next to Zaccaria Vaporetto Station. Breakfast included.

Venice was extra special thanks to the pampering and attention we received here. My husband had a medical issue and the manager (owner)actually phoned his personal doctor for advice. Hotel is right by all the great sites. The complementary breakfast was amazing. The chef made us omelettes.

Just returned from an anniversary trip. The hotel was in a perfect location off San Marco square, close to the boats but was very quiet and peaceful away from all the crowds. The breakfast and rooms were exceptional but if you read all the reviews this is highlighted by everyone. For us the stay was made more memorable by the...

Since this trip was during Spring Break, I thought it would be a good idea for this article to be written by one of the younger members of the family. Here is their review. My family had the pleasure of staying at the two bedroom Moon apartment at Ca' dei Dogi. We stayed for a total of three nights, and...

Very good accommodation. Very friendly staff who couldn't be more helpful. Large and tasty breakfast to set you up for the day. And finally so close to the San Zacarria vaparetto and St Mark's Sq. Really convenient for seeing the whole of Venice particularly if only on a short trip.

We're just home from a week staying in Venice at the Ca dei Dogi - such a lovely hotel with all staff so friendly and helpful. Our room was excellent and kept spotlessly clean with a balcony to enjoy views across to Dogi Palace. The location is ideal being so close to the lagoon for arrival by boat and just...

Had a great time bin Venice and it started, with our accommodations, the staff was very helpful, and went out their way to help us, best hotel that we stayed at on our trip. Would highly recommend staying here.

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
