On the banks of Giudecca Island, a thriving artistic centre of Venice, stands a modern Venetian Masterpiece. The Molino Stucky, once a flourishing flourmill, is now internationally recognised as one of Italy’s iconic pieces of industrial architecture. Beautifully restored, it now houses a hotel unlike any other, offering a different view of Venice. A bold statement, with 379 rooms and suites, the hotel manages to balance intimacy with scale. A place of comforting guest bedrooms and unrivalled restaurants, ballrooms and meeting areas. Guests enjoy the best of both worlds. A short, five-minute boat ride from the heart of Venice, Giudecca Island provides peaceful respite from the intensity of the city and is exceptionally well served by easy access to the airport and rail station. If all this isn’t enough then there is the largest spa in Venice, outstanding service, fine dining, rooftop pool and bar with breath-taking views over the city and shuttle service.

Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.

I have been various times in this hotel. This time, I was quite disappointed: room pretty expensive, view to walls. AC not working, lock st window broken. Carpet outside the rooms pretty disgusting. The bathroom was not clean - lots of hair (!) on the inside of the shower.

We spent 5 days here in January. We found every aspect of this hotel lovely. The staff is topnotch, with everyone speaking English and Italian (and many other languages) fluently. Our welcome as Diamond members was exceptional and we received a gorgeous, spacious room that

Our room was ready at check-in. We were upgraded from a deluxe room to an executive room. We are Hilton Honors members so that may be why we were upgraded. The bath was well appointed with a stall shower and a Jacuzzi tub. The hotel is just a short way from a vaporetto stop

If there are more than 2 people in your party, just pay the 130 Euro for the private water taxi. It is worth the $$.

We are a gold member as well. Breakfast is not as good as your other 5Star Hilton in major cities such as London or Tokyo but they are adequate. Try their local products for breakfast such as their cold meats, cheese, fruits and bread. Those are fantastic. Their lounge has all your basic need such as water, coffee, juices, soft drinks. They offer finger sandwiches and cold cut meat and plenty of cheese. Overall service is amazing!

Dear ColoradoDoug I have *never* heard of decent hotel, especially a reputable brand like Hilton, treat single travellers as “second class”. And I’m a woman who travels a lot, 90% of the time (at least!) alone. In fact, I have often received amazing upgrades and special thought would be put to make me feel comfortable alone. Perhaps your experience is based on package trips where tour operators accept single travellers because they’re greedy but actually their product is tailored for couples so a single traveller is just shoved into whatever is left over? Although as regular in Stucky I doubt they’d work with such shoddy agents, might be worth considering who you’re actually booking your trips through. Booked through Hilton directly, you’ll always get the same standard whether alone or not.

There are two water taxi's you can use. The Hilton has their own and it runs regularly. You catch that right in front of the hotel. There is also the hop on hop off taxis. A short walk in either direction of the hotel will get you on that one. We mostly used the hop on hop off water taxi as we were not aware the Hilton had one until we had already purchased a multi-day pass. The front desk can help you with the taxi schedule. We ended up taking the water taxi to the bus station, which is near the train station, and then caught the airport public transportation bus, which was the cheapest route. You should be able to make this easily with your flight schedule. My wife and I wanted to make sure we didn't mess things us so the night before we left, we did a practice run with the water taxi to the bus station. We bought our bus ticket the night before to avoid lines and we were good to go. I hope this helps. The Hilton was very good at helping us navigate.

May I know whether there are any malls or shops within walking distance from this hotel?
There are some small shops and a co-op, 7/11 type shop within walking distance. It’s not huge but clearly where local people bought their everyday shopping.
