Wonderful wonderful place with very friendly and attentive staff. The rooms are beautiful and the styling across the hotel is exceptionally cool. We took a junior suite for our anniversary weekend and we were just blown away by the whole experience from check in to check out. Everyone knew your name and you really had the feeling of being members...

We stayed at this property because of its location and the photos of the room from the website. When we got there we were quite disappointed that the JD suite that we had booked did not look like the pictures on the website. We were expecting a view like that of the grand canal suite that had high ceilings and...

My new husband I and I stayed dor 3 nights after our wedding. It was our first trip to venice and we were not disappointed. We chose to treat ourselves to a private water taxi from the airport which took us right outside the hotel which is located down a small alley next to Pallazina grassi. Check in was lovely...

Stayed one night in the JD suite as a family of four. The suite is spectacular!! Outstanding design, great layout for a family of four with one bedroom up, one bedroom down (but all contained in its own private flat), large living/dining room, views of the grand canal, design is amazing (the sofa in the upper living room is something...

Very small and nicely furnished, ideal for younger pairs and travellers who value modern design. Really good service, including the arrival and departure when we needed to organize a pickup to the private jet terminal. It is surprisingly small, and maybe that is why you really feel like at home.

This stylish and very discrete luxury hotel features rooms full of elegant mirrors and chrome. It's location is off the beaten paths, but easy to reach through the vaporetto station of Palazzo Grassi which is in fact the neighboring building.

This hotel, a little bit expensive, but what isn't in Venice, is perfectly localized for a first trip to Venice. Breakfast are perfect, rooms are clean and pretty, service is great. If you have the budget, don't hesitate

What a great hotel. Situated in the heart of Venice with short walks to Rialto Bridge and St Marc's Square. The dining room/bar area is a class apart. Good friendly service as well. Priced at upper levels you are paying for location and detail. Our room was a spectacular mirrored bedroom. Small but the most made of it. Clean bathroom...

the rooms were fairly large with a step up small lounge area. we had a balcony but it wasnt that private for we saw our neighbor in the hotel tanning through the thin bushes. service was ok, i had to ask a few times for things. the location is great for those who like to be a drop out of...

First visit to Venice, maybe being little harsh on the hotel but felt few things let it down, we booked a junior suite plus, the room was nice, clean, not that big for a suite plus though, don't think it can be classed as a suite because of a sofa. Anyway, there was no draws, not one draw in the...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
