Great stay in Centre, close to Rialto Bridge & San Marco. Hotel was very clean and staff were helpful. Breakfast was also a bonus aswell as free WIFI. Would recommend this hotel as its close to all the scenic wonders of Venice but is situated in a quiet location away from the main busy strreets.

Hotel Alla Fava is centrally located with clean and comfortable rooms. It was perfect for us who were out exploring all day and came back for an occasional break! It was pricey but so was everywhere in Venice and the benefit was the proximity to the St Marcos Square. The staff were excellent. Our neighbours were a little noisy and...

We had a great stay. The location is very centralized. The directions sent to us by the hotel lead us right to the property. The room came with a power strip which helped. A set back was that we had some mild in the shower. The bathroom however looked like it had been renovated within the past few years.

We enjoyed this hotel as it was not right in the middle of the crowds however it was easy to get anywhere. We took the Orange line to get there and it was a bit of a walk with a large suitcase but all in all it was enjoyable.

Location of the hotel was really good. You dont need to use any water busses if you dont go to specific islands. Hotel was small but cozy and clean. Breakfast lounge was quite small and searing was limited.

If you are willing to have an excellent location for a reasonable amount of money in Venice, this is the place. Plus, you can count with a delicious breakfast and a nice staff. It's just the perfect hotel, if you are not expecting the premium section.

Breakfast was really nice. It's simple, but is enough food for the morning. Beds are comfortable. Pillows are also comfortable. Very good Location. Clean hotel. Internet doesn't work so well. I have to do login on the system all the time. Room is a bit cold. Hair dryer isn't good.

We stayed one night in Venice, and chose Hotel Alla Fava based on price and location. It is very central, and have everything you need for exploring the city, but nothing more. Brilliant location, less than 5 minutes from the Rialto Bridge and less than 10 from St Marks. Clean and friendly with excellent breakfast and good coffee. Noise from passing water traffic meant we had to keep the window closed all night. As a consequence the room was a little airless. We were in a twin room. Possibly other rooms are...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

St Mark’s Square and the Bridge of Sighs are also at walking distance. The main public transport hub on the Grand Canal is 3 minutes away and connects to the main sights, to easily reach the islands in the Laguna: Murano, Burano and Torcello.
