The views from our balcony were stunning with the Grand Canal and Accademia to the right as the backdrop. It was certainly the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in tastefully decorated with very profressional and helpful staff. The terrace on the Grand Canal where you could have breakfast or a pre dinner drink was stunning. The air conditioning...

We only stayed one night but were very happy. Our room was huge on the first floor with panoramic views of the grand canal. Was very easy to find but with so much luggage we still had to catch a taxi to and from the hotel. If you didn't have much catch the vaporetto as literally stops out the front....

Buongiorno! thank you for your very kind review. I'm happy to know that you enjoyed your stay and our location. In fact we are in a very convenient spot: easy to reach, steps from Saint Mark's Square and in a very venetian area. We all look forward to welcome you again here, have a nice day! Roberto

What a beautiful hotel! All the décor is a mixture of Arabic and Italian and lots of Murano glass chandeliers. The breakfast room and lounge are light and comfy. The outdoor terrace on the Grand Canal is wonderful. My room was very large with incredibly tall ceilings. And everything is lush and elegant. The breakfast at the hotel is very...

We just returned from an incredible trip where we spent a few days in Venice at this amazing hotel. I worked with the manager for several months on arranging me and my friends rooms in his incredible hotel. This property is one of the very best I've ever had the pleasure of staying. The Grand Canal views from the breakfast...

This is a great small hotel right on the Grand Canal and just next to a Vaporetto Stop. Staying at the Palazzo Stern gives you the opportunity to experience what life was like to live in a mansion on the Grand Canal. The food, service and decor was excellent!

By selecting a top recommendation from Trip Advisor, I was concerned about whether Palazzo Stern would be that good. It was! Fantastic location away from the hustle/bustle of St Marks, great staff and service. Beautiful, small restored palace. Would definitely return.

We stayed 5 days at this incredible hotel and wished we could have stayed more. The location was incredible, Dorsoduro is a fantastic area to stay in Venice, so much quieter than St Marcs and so much prettier. To me if you are staying in a beautiful romantic city like Venice then you stay in a beautiful historic hotel. Breakfast...

I stayed for only 2 nights in May, but once we checked in we were wishing the Venice part of our vacation was much longer. Palazzo Stern upgraded us to a really cute 2 room suite (rm 201?) which overlooked the side canal and back garden. The best part of the hotel was the lovely terrace on the Grand Canal...

We stayed here for 3.5 days and had a wonderful time. The staff is friendly and catering to your needs. The breakfast lasts until 10:30, which is great, and has plenty of offerings on their buffet, the pillows are soft, the beds are wide, and if you are lucky enough to reserve a junior suite overlooking the Grand Canal (room...

Stern has a wonderful location and the interior of the hotel is amazing. The breakfast was very good. Our room was spacious and beautifully furnished. Buongiorno! I'm sorry for the late reply to this review, I didn't notice it. Please accept my apologise for the two happenings, mainly for the one regarding the restaurant. I'm sure it has been a misunderstanding, it has not been intentional at all. We don't have any affiliated restaurant and we don't get anything from them. So we never try...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
