Spent 4 nights in a single room with excellent on suite facilities. Spotlessly clean room with sparse and elderly furniture on second floor overlooking inner courtyard garden. Staff very friendly and helpful, particularly Diego the Manager. Really enjoyed the quiet , peaceful and slightly monastic atmosphere. Breakfast was self service and plentiful with choice including pastries, cereals, coffee, cheese ,...

The hotel is very close to everything for in Venice..a bit tricky to find it first but luckily the hotel manager Diego gave me clear direction. The room is small but clean. Share bathroom and toilet but have no issues with this. However, the wall is so thin that I could hear people snoring and talking at night. The breakfast...

Staying in Venice by myself I wanted somewhere good, well priced and safe. This hotel is so well located for Piazzale Roma I didn't even realise I'd reached it on the way back and was checking my phone to see how far away it was when I was actually there. They say 10 minutes roughly but it took me about...

the hotel is a walking distance near the bus stop of Piazzale Roma on which you can ride the water bus in going to piazza san marco (st. marks square). The only difficulty in going there is when you bring a heavy luggage on which you have to carry when crossing the bridge. rooms - rooms are clean with soap...

Spotlessly clean, every area of this place is immaculate. Very basic, but Venice itself was the real attraction, I just wanted a clean place to sleep. The location was decent, and not on a very busy canal so there was no noise at night. My room was close to the lobby, so it wasn't very quiet. I was woken early...

We stayed here for three nights in February. We loved its location: close to the train station, close to a nice square ringed with restaurants/shops, and close to vaporetto stops. Not a touristy location--we enjoyed seeing students and locals in the nearby coffee shops. Very quiet. Not luxurious, and the breakfast is simple, but for the price and location we...

FROM MARCO POLO AIRPORT, VENICE: To reach Piazzale Roma, take Bus ATVO “Airport Shuttle Service” . At the bus stop of Piazzale Roma, exit/walk to your right till the end of the parking lot, there is a small stairway going down to a canal passing Hotel Arlecchino in your right. Cross the short bridge adjacent to this hotel and you...

The place is value for money! Spotlessly and squeaky clean. Cosy rooms with a nice view. Spacious and clean washrooms. A short 5 min walk to Piazzale Roma and another 5 to Santa Lucia station. Many café's right outside to sit and enjoy the canal view.

First, this is not a hotel but a religious guesthouse, so don’t expect hotel fripperies, however, I will refer to it has a hotel for simplicity’s sake. It fulfilled my most important criteria for a hotel, i.e. cleanliness (some *hotels could learn a thing or two). The multilingual reception staff is friendly and helpful, as were all staff members with...

This hotel is owned by a church/ religious group. They have nuns working and running this place. Religious symbols and statues everywhere, even in rooms. If they're running a hotel for tourists they should keep the religion separate, not everyone believe in religions, plus not everyone agree or comfortable around these things, so don't put these in private rooms you...

There are hundreds of accommodations in Venice, but you wanted to come here for the price very cheap, without taking care of our rules. We do not hide to be a religious house, and OF COURSE there are religious symbols. You do not like them? If is YOUR problem, not ours. The curfew is not ridiculous, you disrespect us and...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
