I spent five nights in Verona, to attend two friends’ wedding. I had a lovely stay. My room was clean and comfortable, the shower excellent, the staff friendly and the breakfast fulsome and tasty. I will definitely stay there again when I go back to Verona.

We only stayed at this hotel one night but really enjoyed it. The common areas and rooms are very well decorated, the bathroom and shower had modern and well-functioning fixtures, and the front desk was extremely helpful in all regards. The restaurant was fabulous, we had both lunch and dinner there (it was raining). The hotel is located away from the tourist area in a residential neighborhood and a 15 minute walk to any tourist attractions, which was fine with us. The frig in the room didn't work but the front desk staff chilled a bottle of prosecco for us and had plans to get it working. The wifi went out a couple of times so business travelers might be frustrated if this is a pattern.

our room looked nothing like the published pictures. We paid for premium boutique hotels on our tour At this hotel we were given a very basic room at the front of the hotel. The room was stuffy and airless. My husband who never has breathing problems couldn't breathe. So we decided to turn the air conditioner on. It was a unit that was vented up with the controls on RH side on top. When I turned the machine on dust and debris blew up into my face, which unfortunately I inhaled. Several days later I became ill. By this time we had flown to Greece, 5 days after the stop in Verona I was admitted to hospital in Ioannina Greece with Bacterial Pneumonia, I was very seriously ill. The specialist at the hospital counted back the days for incubation and said I probably got the infection from the air conditioner in Verona. His advice never turn the air conditioner on in these types of hotels.

I stayed in this restaurant as part of a group of educational tourist. we stayed here from 31st Oct to 4th November. I must say that the breakfast was excellent and the waitress and the waiter in the restaurant during breakfast were welcoming and friendly even though we were not from Italy because were from England. The room facilities were adequate for a three star hotel. I think the hotel needs to have dental care in the room.
Lastly on our final day l had gone to the reception to leave my luggage because we had to leave the room by 11am even though our flight was in the evening to put my luggage in the store room but honestly this receptionist a male on had stem face on him as if to say we were distrubing him . when l spoke to when later he also said he received the same attitude from the receptionist the night before. I will like to write that once they advertise this hotel it will not BE ONLY ITALIANS WHO WILL STAY THERE BUT PEOPLE FROM FAR AND NEAR so the early management speaks to him the better.

Dear Sir/Madam, thank you very much for your review. We are glad that you appreciated the staff at our restaurant and we are sorry for the impression you had of our mail receptionist. He is usually very nice and smily. We will go deep in the matter. But, what we would like to point out is that 80% of our guests are foreigners from all over the world and, we DO NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE among our guests. So, please, accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

We drew the short straw with our room allocation
We were on a small group tour with Back Roads and knew by now that tours are always allocated the worst rooms in the hotel. It wasn't that this is a terrible hotel or there was a problem with the staff, it was just our lousy room which was possibly the worst this hotel has. We were supposed to be housed on the expensive tour in 'boutique' hotels. This hotel was a late substitute and located about 20 minutes walk from town. It was a madhouse morning and night and at breakfast due to all the well known large bus tours lodging at this hotel. The shower fixture was broken meaning that we had to shower with one hand while holding the shower head up the pole with the other hand. The toilet refused to flush and I spent 15 minutes fiddling with the cistern to get it to flush. Bur our main issue was the stale air in the room. In 35 years of travel we have never experienced such poor air in our lives, even in Beijing. I have no respiratory problems but was struggling to breathe. My wife was becoming distressed. So we turned the air con on and a cloud of dust flew into the room. After a couple of hours we turned the air con off as it neither lowered the temperature or improved the air quality. We then opened the window and got relief but were kept awake from traffic noise Within days of staying here my wife was seriously ill with bacterial pneumonia, doctors thought from air con.

Dear Sirs, we are so surprised form this review. It never happened to receive such a horrible opinion of our Hotel. As you can read, most of our reviews are positive and most of our guests return to our hotel every year. Using adjective 'lousy' is extremely unpolite towards a room which is very nice, wide well decorated, and towards all the guests who choose that specific room. We can understand that maybe it it didn't meet your tastes, but that is your personal opinion. Our hotel has hosted many groups from this operator, but we have never received bad words. Why didn't you tell us anything during your stay??! We could have changed the room immediately, avoiding all the complaints. We are sorry for the respiratory problems, but certainly it is not Hotel Italia's fault! You must know that italian law is very strict regarding air conditioning systems. Every month all the fan coils are clenad and sanitized. What's more is that at that time air conditioning was off as it was mid-October!! So, no cloud could have come out from the fan coil. Your experience at Hotel Italia could be certainly better than this, by simply asking to change the room because you didn't like it, and of course we would have shown you another one or choosen together the one you liked most. Best regards.
