I don't normally write reviews while I'm still at the hotel but this place is just wonderful! Firstly, we had the top level suite with hot tub. The view is something special, and the room is clean, very modern, and just beautiful. Secondly (and most importantly) the staff are just amazing, friendly, helpful and lovely. I can't praise them enough:)....

From the moment you drive through the large metal gates you are transported back in time. If you are looking for a secluded and quiet hotel this is the one for you. We had room 112 which is on the first floor and has a large terrace with sea views. We had two sun loungers and a table and chairs...

We stayed in the hotel for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed the Hotel . The Hotel is ideally situated within 10 mins walk of Alghero centre, it is situated in its own secluded grounds that are by the sea . The Hotel car park is a short walk through the grounds to the Hotel and on arrival and departure the...

A lovely old Italian villa that is now a delightful hotel. Location is secluded and overlooks the sea. Staff are fantastic from the receptionist who greets you in perfect English to the waiter who mixes a mean negroni. Old town of Alghero is a 10 minute stroll away. A great holiday for relaxing and soaking up Sardinian charm.

Stayed with my Mum for a week in room 112, what a view. Room was spacious, light with plenty storage for a week (only 4 coat hangers but quickly resolved by reception) bathroom a little dated but would never stop me going again. Staff were really friendly and genuinely seemed to care about guests enjoying their stay. Grounds are incredibly...

In a lovely location on a promontory on the south side of Alghero, with 18000 m2 of gardens yet only 10 minutes walk from the old city, Villa Las Tronas is a great place to relax and a good base to explore the surrounding area. To get in and out the gates to the street have to be opened (remotely)...

Stayed here in May 2016 with 9 other couples. It was our base camp for 5 days while touring Sardinia. Such a gorgeous hotel and charming staff. The scenery around this hotel is stunning. Be sure to take a room on the seaside, especially those with a roomy balcony.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Villa Las Tronas is the delightful 5-star hotel that has become the symbol of Alghero - “the Golden Door to tourism in Sardinia” - situated on the Riviera del Corallo on the north-west coast of the Island. The hotel rises from the sea-shore with its Spa, nestled in the greenery of nearly two hectares of park that separate it from the Alghero waterfront, on a headland surrounded on three sides by the crystal-clear water of the bay. Numerous quays invite you to sunbathe and swim in the most comfortable, private way. The view is spectacular and the atmosphere so intense and romantic as to steal the hearts of Italian Royalty, who chose the Villa up to the nineteen-forties for their holidays in Sardinia. The bar and panoramic restaurant are the ideal place to relax, while your gaze takes in the Bay of Alghero and rediscovers the timeless luxuriousness inherent in the unique features and character of the villa. The Hotel and the Spa – with its covered sea-water swimming-pool (also looking out over the Mediterranean), sauna, Turkish bath, Kneipp walkway, gym and the beauty area – are open all through the year. ... more   less
