I loved my recent stay at the Romano Palace. The hotel is quiet and peaceful, with very nice access to the city and very close to the airport. Walking across the street to the ocean is convenient. The team at the Romano Palace are friendly and check in is easy. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and my wi-fi worked... More

This place clearly has had it's heyday and needs a refresh. Staff were very nice but the facilities are in need a of a major upgrade. How about an empty electrical socket for your cell phone and other electronic devices? Was supposed to have access to and from the airport with a shuttle which did not exist. Lovely driver but... It's a great idea having something different but the hotel is in need of renovation. The room was very musty and needed airing and we struggled to open 2 suitcases in there. The bathroom was small and desperately needs updating, small hairs in the bath and thick black mould on the shower screen, taps, handles etc and it smelt faintly... More

Very disappointing stay The two star rating relates to the supposed 5-star status of this hotel. Even If it was 3 or 4 star it would warrant an average rating of 3-stars. The location is close to the airport (15mins drive) and the pool the grounds are nice. The bed was comfortable When something is old but well looked-after, it... More

Large hotel in massive grounds. Advertised as 5 star, but that is a slight exaggeration. Quite clean, with decent sized rooms but closer to the airport than Catania itself. You rely on the infrequent hotel shuttle or costly taxis to get to and from town. Not walkable and the hotel staff advised us it was not safe to walk into... More

Easy to find, along a large road. Parking inside. Multi-language Reception. Nicely decorated, marble etc. Rooms are rather medium size (no place to put 2 luggages), even if the balcony is rather large. Nice swimming pool.Location of breakfast not well indicated. Restaurant has a list of attractive meals. Recommended to take half board. Large list of wines. Services quite good.... More

This hotel is a bit dated and not 5* compared to other 5* places we have stayed. The hotel looks nice but behind the scenes it needs some work. The hotel pizzeria was below average.
