Traveled the world. Rarely come across such a tasteful and perfectly appointed accomodations. Staff is attentive and quest focused. Location is ideally situated near key tourist interests. Highly recommend if you prefer quiet classic accommodations.

The experience in this uniquely wonderful “Dimora”was unforgettable: class, courtesy, highly professional people made our stay flawless. Highly recommend the experience in staying here. The atmosphere of the pre existing building from the 16th hundred completed the journey and added a perfect note to the entire stay in Sicily.

Recently I have gone back to Palermo, to enjoy this great city in its winter looks. I have stayed again at the Palazzo del Poeta, which is my favourite hotel in Palermo. In the winter season, Palermo offers a multitude of cultural entertainment, most of it in its centre, and the Palazzo del Poeta is located bang in the middle of the must-see area. The rooms and service are of the highest standard, as you would expect from a hotel of that level, but the astonishing thing is that the Palazzo itself is one of the top cultural venues in Palermo. Its 'tea with an author' series of talks allow the visitor to mingle with some of italian top authors and cultural trend-setters, in a very informal and cosy atmosphere. I cannot think of another place where all these elements are blended together so well. Finally, the building itself is a hallmark of Sicilian architecture, and it has been renovated to the highest modern standard while respecting its historical appearance.

We first had a bit of a hard time finding this place. We went around the block a couple of times. Do not look for signs with the hotel name, there aren't any. Look for the address and ring the doorbell. It's location is very convenient to visit the various attractions and plenty of restaurants nearby. The decoration in the public areas and in the rooms is very elaborate. There is no reception so you need to look around for a staff member if you need something. You can access to water and some snack at all times. Breakfast was so-so. We had a major issue with the shower. The door would not close completely (open by about one inch). Even when I held the door closed during the whole duration of my wife's shower, water was coming out around the hinges. I had issues on this trip with water puddles in front of the shower but this was more than just a water puddle, it was more like a bucket of water was dropped on the floor. Based on other reviews, this seems to be a know issue. After we complained about the shower, we were moved to another room which was much better.

Outstanding small boutique hotel in a very quiet location. The palazzo was painstakingly renovated creating a little paradise right in the city centre walking distance to all sites, great restaurants etcetera. Everything from the common spaces, the room itself, the breakfast, the staff, and the communication from the owner re suggestions was top notch. It was one of the nicest east stays we have had. Highly recommended!

One of the most beautiful hotels we’ve ever stayed at! Perfect location with private and safe parking. 15 mins walk from the main train station and 2 mins walk from plenty of restaurants, bars and tourist attractions. The staff were very helpful. The hotel is like an art gallery with private library. breakfast lounge and kitchen.

Palazzo del Poeta is spectacular! After a very challenging drive into town (so many one-way micro-alleys and missed turns!), we were feeling a bit shell-shocked by our first time in bustling Palermo. The Palazzo is a sophisticated, quite, almost glamorous oasis that we really needed after exploring the amazing but sometimes overwhelming city. The staff was very helpful and the accommodations were just fabulous. We would absolutely stay again. One suggestion: be sure to check in with staff before and know the location - it is not immediately obvious from outside, especially if you are driving. I neglected to check in beforehand and initially didn't have much luck calling or emailing the hotel when I couldn't find it. I eventually figured out that What's App is the most reliable method. This place is amazing, and may be the reason we'll return to Palermo soon!

Room is comfortable and spacious. The architecture of the building is very special with lovely high ceilings and exposed stone. For me, I would have preferred a little more simplicity in the decor. Disappointing to see a smoke alarm covered up with plastic. Breakfast room is on a different level from tea and coffee machine, so not the most relaxing breakfast as there were no staff around to help.

Came here for our 20th anniversary. Very beautiful in a good location. Well appointed, comfortable room with excellent staff. delicious and decadent breakfast! Antonella was wonderful, friendly, and very helpful with parking and restaurant bookings. Disliked · We were in the Poet room, which is right next to the breakfast area. We could hear the scraping of the dining chairs on the floor, waking us up early. Perhaps a large rug under the table and chairs would help muffle the noise. The shower needs a shelf for toiletries or perhaps mounted pump bottles for less waste. Also, the shower floor does not have a raised edge to prevent water from spilling out and flooding, and the shower door does not close all the way. The next two nights, we took short “camp” showers: simply use enough water to get wet, turn the water off, soap up, and turn the water back on to rinse. I had the handheld shower in one hand and held the door closed with the other. Not very relaxing and not ideal while on holiday. The shower and breakfast noise were the only problems. Everything else was great! I would definitely stay here again in the future, but in a different room with a bathtub and away from the breakfast room.

Response from Rosa di stefano, Proprietario at Palazzo Del Poeta
Responded May 14, 2023
Thank you so much for these nice words and I'm happy that your stay at "Palazzo del Poeta" was such a good memory that you want to come back for a next trip. At the same time, to be clear and respond publicly to this "complaint" of yours, it seems correct to clarify that we are moving the breakfast room to the lower floor, to avoid even those small noises that may occur from some customers, and that the problem of water was linked to a problem of municipal works in the water network in the area, which obviously were resolved in a couple of days. Unfortunately this maintenance carried out by the public administration coincides with your stay. And I'm so sorry. So both of the inconveniences you described have already been largely resolved. Anyway, thanks again and it was nice to meet you.
