Grand Hotel Et Des Palmes is an old hotel in grand style, in the center of Palermo. It was renovated some time ago, so it could use some maintenance The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is excellent. Personel is polite and helpful.

Well located to visit sites, close to many restaurants. The rooms on the ground floor give the impression of past opulence and are used for meetings etc.The hotel served a good choice of breakfast in what seems to be a past ballroom with mirrors and chandeliers. It was clean and tidy and staff pleasant but parking was expensive with valet service.The...

This is a wonderful hotel. Imagine breakfast in a ballroom with huge chandeliers and you begin to get the picture. It is full of character and charm. The location is excellent, too. Near restaurants. cafes, shopping. A straight road to the station. Alas, someone decided to carpet the entire place--public rooms and guest rooms--with the same, pale if hard wearing...

The hotel is located perfectly in the city, I actually love historic hotels. However, the stained and soiled hallway carpets left a very poor impression. The staff were very professional and helpful. We enjoyed the city and concierge recommendations, and the Limo tour was enjoyable and well done. Thanks Jim Kelly

Great location, good sized room and good bathroom. lovely breakfast in old ballroom. Large hotel, but slightly "faded". No proper bar or lounge, just a corner of the huge draughty entrance hall. Value for money.

The hotel certainly has old school charm but has been poorly looked after. Our carpet in our room was in horrible dirty and worn out condition. We were informed that the entire hotel was in the same condition. As well the plaster on the walls in our room was cracked in numerous places to the point I thought it would...

However, it is past its prime. It's a large and once-lovely hotel, but from the moment you check in and experience what might incorrectly be thought of as arrogance on the part of the men at reception, you realize that it is not quite as good as it may have been. The building itself needs some serious overhauling, and that...

The hotel lies in the centre of Palermo and was converted from a private house in the early part of the last century. There is a main road on one side and side roads on the other sides which can create noise. Much of the decoration appears to date from then. The rooms vary from being quite small to quite...

I love hotels like this. Grand, slightly creaky survivals of yesteryear, with walls dripping with history. So much more memorable than the identi-chains that meld into each other 24 hours after you have left. This one lingers like a past love, character flaws and all. I stayed twice for one night only en route to/from airport - tip to readers,...

As others have remarked this hotel situated in the centre of Palermo is an example of the old fashioned grand hotel, plenty of marble, pillars, mirrors etc. Bedrooms and bathrooms are well furnished, if rather mean with the soap, plenty hot water, decent bath. Comfortable bed, to, safe, fridge. Breakfast in a large 'room of mirrors" was okay, except for...
