We were with a group of 40 seniors ( OAP ) all of whom were disappointed with this outdated hotel. There are 14 storeys and although there are 4 lifts you have to wait ages before one stops at your floor. The hotel was full of large groups so mealtimes were chaotic and the food rather unappetising.
The situation is poor as there is nothing of interest in the area .
We had a sea view room which sounds good but there is an open air disco in front of the hotel which played very loud music until midnight so make sure you have earplugs.
We didn't choose this hotel but if you do have a choice then avoid it. The only thing I can think of to recommend it is the reasonably priced beer and wine.

Just came back from this hotel all of the staff at this hotel went above and beyond their duty Dominico and Danilo, we’re brilliant and are left responsible to the running of this hotel, the only disappointment was the absence of The manager Salvatore Romano never to be seen comes in at 3:30 and is gone by 9am leaving the staff to deal with unhappy customers who are very unhappy with various states of repair, including tiles and bathroom fittings falling off when are showering and hitting you in the head, the manager if that’s what you call him does not face customers will not speak to customers and does nothing to answer any questions promises you a meal for your group and two seconds after you’ve eaten gets staff to inform you that he will only pay for two of
You.
The manager is a coward and does not deserve the staff He has, such a coward he will not even talk in the telephone to you. Such a shame as this hotel could be so much more run by Danilo or Dominico! The hotel is a taxi ride away from the centre usually euro 20 there and back which is expensive, pool was great and so was the breakfast

I was on a guided tour to Sicilien and for the first night they had chosed the San Paolo Palace. The hotel was ok and the staff friendly, but it was rather far from the city center of Palermo, so there was no restaurant nearby. You had to go to Palermo for a dinner and take a taxi ride för 20 Euro per ride or walk 30 minutes to the city center.

Perhaps you're not as daft as me to stay here when most of the reviews are already pretty bad but to really emphasise it further: don't stay here, go somewhere else.

The location, for a start, is terrible. Not only is it a long walk to the city centre but the route there is a busy, smelly rubbish-strewn road (Palermo as a whole is beautiful, of course), while public transport options aren't great and taxis are vastly overpriced (£20-£25 for the trip into the centre).

The rooms aren't dirty per se, they're just not as clean as you'd expect or want, i.e. marks on the covers, marks on the pillows etc. The furniture in the hotel is not only dated (not a problem by itself) but in some places, it's falling apart. The leather couches in the reception, for example, we flakey leaving your clothes covered in white dust after sitting down for a while.

If you're unlucky enough to receive an odd-numbered room, your view is just... grim. No sea or mountains, rather a decaying, incomplete tower block that looks decades old.

Worst of all for us during our stay is that we politely asked for a refund. No shouting, no being rude, simply stating that the hotel was up to modern standards and that we no longer wanted to stay. We said we would pay for one night, but that we wanted our money back for the other two nights so that we could move to a cleaner, more central hotel. The hotel point blank refused. Not only this but as part of that refusal, they admitted that this was a common request, i.e. lots of people who stay ask for their money back and they also refuse!

This hotel is modern and has all the facilities you need...in the 80's!

The rooms were large and clean but the rest of the hotel is very outdated. It has a lot of potential but not exploited correctly: the top floor restaurant is only used for breakfast whereas it would also be nice to look at the seaview with dinner. The terrace is very large but there is no service and in the evening it's messy with overflowing ashtrays and plastic cups on the floor.
The restaurant staff however were very nice and helpful and the hotel has a great car park but the location is not ideal if you don't have transport.
I would not go there again

Dated dirty rooms , stained old carpets , look like hotel from 60's . Definitely the worst hotel I stayed in .

Actually a bit shocked hotels like that still exists.
Only foyer looked modern and clean.
Careless staff ,room not ready at 14:30 where check it supposed to be at 2PM

You will be better off to pay fee quid more and stay elsewhere although I don't think it was cheap hotels.

Was probably a 4 star hotel at some point but it has detoriated to a 3 star. Signs of rust, stains but in general rather clean. Breakfast was good if u like sweet stuff. 2 single beds in the room were a little hard for me. The negative is the neighborhood, very poor surroundings, does not feel safe at all and we had to walk 45 minutes in plain sun to reach the center of Palermo. We got a taxi to come back after a day in Palermo center. Tip: get a car, free parking at the hotel but good luck parking in Palermo center.

Didn’t read reviews before staying. Horrible! First room didn’t have working AC and it’s about 40 degrees C outside ! They wouldn’t even do anything until I went down to ask to speak to manager . All day like this . Moved me rooms to a dingy old smelly room . Carpeting and furniture from the 60’s by the looks . Finally got a room but sea view is sooo noisy !! It’s almost midnight and here I am listening to them outside and it’s like I have my window open . Horrible service and not a great area . Can’t find food here between 3-7:30!!! Skip this place !!!

Nice hotel with nice rooms, nice lobby, beautiful top floor restaurant with good food. However, the surroundings are not nice, The hotel has a navette (mini-bus) that takes you to downtown Palermo every hour (except Sundays and holidays). This is good because taxis in Palermo are not cheap, The hotel has DSL internet at the lobby.
Palermo is not a beautiful city and it is dirty. However, the people are nice and the island of Sicily is beautiful.

This place needs to be downgraded from the 4 stars. The hotel owner should be named and shamed. Sadly there are a few instant things this hotel could do to make it better. Unfortunately the last time anyone did anything to this hotel it would have been back in the 80's as it is the most dated hotel I have ever been to in my 42 years of living. It's a bit of a way from the centre. The rooms are very outdated and the ac does not work. The gym is full of old broken equipment. The breakfast is meant to be served until 10am but they stop topping up things unless someone asks from 9am (this includes cutlery). They remove the plates but don't change the table cloth so you can see the food from the last person. The food menu is only in Italian, and I do appreciate we are in Italy but it is a 4 star hotel that should accommodate to international visitors. There are no irons in the hotel, so if you are coming for a meeting and want to iron your shirt.....well that's not gonna happen. The bar is over priced......take a walk 1 min away and you can get the same drinks at 1/4 the price. The pool on the roof is functional but old as is everything in the place. Even the lifts need some TLC. Speaking of which the up buttons do not work on any other floor but the ground floor. The owner/s of this place should be ashamed and this place needs to be downgraded to a 2 star and the word palace should be struck off. I wish I had read the reviews before booking........and i'm writing this while i'm still here. There are 3 stars cheaper than this dump so I suggest you check the reviews for them first, just dont book here. What a slum this is :(

Salutti
