Although having visited Sicily on a number of occasions, this was the first time we had visited the Syracuse area. Giuggiulena is run by two sisters, Sabrina and Claudia. The views from our balcony were stunning and breakfast was excellent. Ortigia has a wide range of places to eat and is an easy stroll from Giuggiulena which is in a...

Very special cosy place in Siracusa, not far from Ortigia. (Even if walking to the centre is not very nice and takes around 25 minutes. The easiest is to take the bikes from the B&B and park them anywhere in Ortigia!) Being in the hotel “felt like home”, very nice and clean rooms, stunning view from the balconies and adorable...

To finish off an amazing trip round Sicily my husband and I, together with his brother and wife, wanted a really special place to stay in Siracusa for our final three days. We certainly found it! Wow. What can I say. Both our double rooms in this clifftop villa - about a 15-minute walk from Ortigia - had a balcony...

Incredible location with spectacular views from balconies overhanging the sea. Sabrina (the owner) is charming so full of energy and enthusiasm. Breakfasts are without doubt the best we had during our Sicily tour - homemade pastries and cakes, cheeses and cold meats. Swimming from the rocks was a special experience - jumping from the rocks a favourite for our teenage...

Giuggiulena is an extremely charming place to spend a few days. It is on the sea and you can swim from the rocks in front of the building. Sabrina, the charming host, provides swim shoes and towels. There is also a private beach 100 metres up the road where you can pay for a lounge and an umbrella. Wifi is...

We spent two nights at this B&B which sits in a spectacular location right next to the ocean. As previous guests have said, our room and balcony directly overlooked the sea as did the breakfast balcony and guest lounge. In addition to the generous breakfast; tea, coffee and fruit were available all day. Sabrina is a delightful, friendly host who...

We recently spent six nights at Giuggiulena: it was wonderful waking up in a sundrenched room, with the sound of the waves below. After a morning spent sightseeing, it was relaxing to sit on our balcony and watch the sea. Breakfast was home-made and served outside on a balcony. There is also a spacious lounge, where guests can make tea...

A friend and I stayed at Giuggiulena in May 2016 based on on-line photos and reviews. We were not disappointed. Our room was immaculately clean and when we opened the door to the balcony, there was the sea, right below us just as shown in the photos. It was lovely hearing the sound of waves all night. Breakfast was great...

We very much enjoyed our stay at this very high standard B&B. Our room was large with a balcony overlooking the sea. All sorts of very useful things were provided - access to bicycles which we used exhaustingly; towels for the beach/ rocky area; snorkels and water shoes. The breakfasts were a masterpiece of varied pastries, meats, cheeses, freshly squeezed...

Clung to the sedimentary rock from which it's named after: "Giuggiulena" the building is almost a place set apart, a secret place, a shelter of serenity and natural beauty overlooking the sea accompanied by the waves and the moon.
