We showed up at this hotel (also known as the House of the Pilgrim - la Casa del Pellegrino) without a reservation and got a special rate for the night (40 euros including breakfast) and was able to park for free in their private parking area behind the hotel. The room was spartan but had all the basic amenities and... More

When we arrived, the entire hotel was without power and the parking area was filled with maintenance vehicles and workers. Hoses and wires were everywhere. When we entered the hotel, the lobby was full of guests as they were not in their rooms or the restaurant, awaiting restoration of power. I immediately stated that our reservation was to be cancelled... More

As a first view the hotel was fine. Central location just behind Madonna Delle Lacrime. Going to the room, the bathroom sink was blocked. the shower very rusty and the bed not so clean! The breakfast was average. very bad wifi signal that doesn't reach the rooms. Bad experience overall.

I will start with the good part - the staff is helpful and kind. But, the rooms were cold, and the breakfast was poor and the same every day - only one type of ham and one type of cheese, one type of juice and even only one type of tea! Also, it is not centrally located. You need 25... More

Having had to change our plans due to bad weather, I booked a night at Hotel Del Santuario from Booking.Com app on my phone. First impressions were favourable from the outside, and the indide of the hotel was clean & spacious. Our room was also clean, quiet and large. The breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful. Very clean hotel and excellent breakfast. No soya milk was available but bread and biscuits lactose free where available. Very central, just opposite the Santuario therefore close to restaurants. Lovely view of the Santuario from the balcony. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Its very nice situated with a parking. Its very close, 5min walk to catacomb etc. To ortigla you have 15min walking. Which is very nice. At the evening you can call taxi from ortigla and they charge you 13 euros. The staff is very friendl and you can see that they like what are the doing. They are satisfied and... More

I came back to this hotel two years later and I'glad I did. It is strategically located, across the street from the Madonnina Santuario, less than 5 minute walk from St. John's catacombs, a city museum, and the archaeological areas (Greek theater, Dyonisus Ear and so on). The staff is extremely cordiale and they help you with every problem you... More

The Hotel del Santuario is a very nice hotel. The people there are very friendly and make you feel at home. A big positive is that the in-hotel restaurant is only 15€ per night and offers you a HUGE 3 course meal. The food is fantastic and even has gluten free options. If you're looking for a place to stay... More

I chose this place for 3 reasons: Has a carpark and easy to drive to ( as compared to Ortigia.. ) Very close to Greek and Roman theatres, Catacombs of St. John Good value All 3 criteria were satisfied. Large room, sterile feel to the place. Breakfast fair and I broke the Golden rule of not dining at a hotel... More

“You will need a car to stay at this hotel. There is a small parking lot for free, but parking on the street is allowed and seem to be safe. There is a cafeteria just outside the hotel on the right. Walking distance to all the archeological sites, but you must go to Centro Historico.”
