Excellence is expected whenever Four Seasons is mentioned, yet, staying in Four Seasons Sand Domenico takes their customers to a whole another dimension. First of all, the hotel is an archeological marvel, with long history that echos in every step we take through this used to be convent. And the architects done right to this architectural gem by preserving its original building materials and including broken pieces of columns and stones into this otherwise modern hotel. The rooms were beautifully designed and well pointed. We had two rooms-3 people stayed in one room that was slightly bigger and had a plunge pool on the veranda. This room has a bigger bathroom and more closet space then the other room. Having the plunge pool was wonderful especially on the balmy Sicilian nights and we all enjoyed it. The other room, while also beautiful with spectaculars view of the sea, is on the smaller side. The bathroom is tiny, but perfectly comfortable, always with plush fresh towels. The bed super comfortable with inviting linens. The only issue, if any, was the closet space. The closet was tiny for the two us and there was no room to put away the luggage. Having said that, I did not want to leave and would stay there again and again. The food and drinks in the property restaurants were spectacular and the breakfast was an experience on its own. The infinity pool leaves you longing for Ionian Sea the moment you leave, and the air in the surrounding gardens taste like romance. D&G touches throughout the property give that special touch. The location is perfect for discovering Taormina and a short ride away from the nearby beaches. The service was above 5 stars. They anticipate your every wish, the facility is above clean; the concierge staff is sweet, and they do everything possible and impossible to get reservations that guests want. We wanted to have dinner in the Mount Etna Winery-they made impossible possible and found us an incredible winery where we had the most memorable dinner with the owners while Mount Etna gave a spectacular Lave show-that winery deserves its own review that I will di shortly. We also wanted to have lunch in a place in Letogianni, in the restaurant loved by the locals. It was recommended to us by our captain that took us around Isola Bella. It was busy, but our concierge was persistent, and it was absolutely worth it! While the restaurant was not "Four Season" exquisite, the local Sicilian seafood was unparalleled, and I am hoping to go there again. The hotel housekeeping staff leaves small gifts every day in each room. As a side kick-it seems that every hotel driver is also a tour guide, turning every ride into a small tour. Uber drivers are also readily available and there are numerous restaurants and cutest shops within 5 minutes of the hotel. Overall, even though we want to explore other parts of Sicily, i cannot wait to go back.

I have never been as sad as I was today when I left Taormina and my stay at San Domenico Palace ended.

It is undoubtedly my favourite hotel in the whole wide world at this point.

Firstly, the hotel itself is a masterpiece. The art, the plantations, the architecture.

Secondly, our room was LOVELY, overlooking the Ionian Sea with a personal pool.
Shout out to the housekeeping team for leaving us lovely gifts and for their terrific attention to detail - the rooms were impeccable thanks to them.
For example, everyday we came back to our room to find our hastily left spectacles neatly put on a personalised San Domenico Chamois. Or our cable wires would be nearly wound up with a leather holder.
It really is the small and big stuff, isn’t it, that makes the experience great?

The food - oh my god - the food! The beef fillet! The Ragu pasta! The breakfast spread! The cannolis! Gorgeous green olive oil! Just the pure quality of food and the mastery of cooking will promise you no bad meals at San Domenico. Also - Panoramic views of the Ionian Sea during meal times! San Domenico Palace is a food lovers paradise.

The biggest shout out to Mr. Dario Amoroso who is the restaurant supervisor who hosted us during all our meals at San Domenico - he is so good at what he does. A huge thanks to him for making sure we had the best meals, for making us feel like truly special guests…we will remember our time with him very very fondly. A true gentleman!

And a shout out to Giulia Torrisi (part of the concierge team) for helping us navigate through Taormina with the best reccos and 24x7 help. Your energy is contagious, signora!!

San Domenico Palace is an expensive stay. But it is so worth it. Worth every penny. So so so very happy with the service, the stay, the experience.

Came because of White Lotus, stayed because it was truly perfect.

Thanks team San Domenico Palace for everything. 11/10 recommend as I am sure you can tell.

I was lucky enough to spend my birthday at the Four Seasons Taormina.

They went out of their way to ensure it was a special and memorable day, I received more cakes than I could count! At breakfast, in the room, at dinner and amazingly the staff often stopped and wished me a happy birthday - that kind of personal service is really exceptional in such a busy place and it really made my day.

The hotel itself was stunning. It felt like a real privilege to stay in such a historic building. The staff were exceptional, check in was great and the tour of the property was really interesting. At breakfast, Arianna was outstanding and deserves an individual mention. She was fun, chatty, gave great tips about things to do in Sicily and really made our morning (and afternoon when she served us at the bar!). The food across the board was faultless. The selection at breakfast was exceptional and we really loved the inclusion of Sicilian dishes and not just a standard american style breakfast menu. The bar snacks and dinner we enjoyed were also excellent.

There is a good quality gym, the location for exploring Taormina is excellent and the concierge gave us some amazing tips for local spots to try the best arancini etc.

A big thank you to all the team for making my birthday stay so special.

This is my all favourite hotel which I have been returning to over the years and was pleased to see that four seasons have kept most of the old charm. The hotel is on the edge of loosing its Italian charm (ie playing English music constantly) but it still is a gem of a place!

The team on the ground were very helpful and the staff by the pool attentive given the hot weather.

The renovation has been done to a high standard as expected by the hotel chain but of course you will pay the price for it! Management does however ensure you are well looked after with small touches, such as free flowing water in the room and by the pool, small treat on arrival and an impressive fruit bowl. Housekeeping also have great attention to detail with little touches that really shows the hotel is extremely well managed.

I would highly recommend breakfast on the terrace, even if you have to wait until it becomes available and also going down to the pool earlier in the day to ensure you get a sun bed - it’ll be worth getting out of bed early for it.

We will definitely be back to our regular visits. Thank you to the whole team.

This is a simply breathtaking hotel in a converted monastery and made famous by series 2 of White Lotus.

There is a sense of the history of the building everywhere with lots of original decor remaining. Even the door to our room was the original size that it would have been when the property was a monastery.

There used to be lots to explore at the property, including beautifully manicured gardens, a spectacular swimming pool, courtyard, various lounge rooms and more. There used to be also a very well kitted out gym and a great choice for food and drink.

We also enjoyed an amazing tour of the local area in a 1960s Fiat 500 which was an amazing experience.

Our room was fantastic - a nice living area with sofa and two armchairs separate to the very comfortable bedroom with en suite bathroom.

Breakfast was something to behold - a fabulous buffet offering a full range of fresh Italian food and Sicilian speciality dishes as well as an extensive a la carte menu with lots of choice. We enjoyed it on a terrace offering stunning views of Taormina.

Service throughout was impeccable with a special thank you to Ariana who made our breakfast experience even more special with her interesting and fun conversation.

This place is really expensive, particularly after the White Lotus series. However, it is a great hotel in a spectacular location. We had a sea view premium room with terrace and truly enjoyed the spacious outside balcony overlooking the Ionian Sea- definitely worth the extra expense. The pool is a happening scene. Interior was typical FS flower show. Food was ok, not standout.

Hands down, this property ranks just as highly in my book as both Four Seasons properties in Bali. In fact, in addition to everything one would expect from a FS property, I would argue San Domenico takes even further steps to add value and personalization to your trip than the typical Four Seasons experience. I saw this in the room upgrade I received, the little gifts left behind for me each time housekeeping accessed my room, the late check-out time I was granted, the departing gift from a beautiful boutique on Corso Umberto I walked past multiple times and now regret never actually going in to shop (so point being, thank you for bringing a piece of the boutique to me!). I have nothing but complements for their concierge and management staff: a big thank you to Anna and Angelo! Be sure to seek these two out when you visit, they truly represent the level of hospitality and expertise one would expect from a property like this. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and the food is delicious at any and all of their restaurant concepts. This is a property that will make every effort to get to know you, and every member of their staff will make you feel as if you are their only guest and top priority. A visit here will leave you anticipating your next trip back. Wonderful hospitality on every front.

We just returned from the San Domenico Palace and had the most amazing vacation in Taormina. The hotel is exquisite from the gardens, to the infinity pool and restaurants. Our family was in connecting Sea View with Terrace rooms; the balconies faced a picturesque view of the ocean that we enjoyed thoroughly. This was a very relaxing trip thanks to the EXCEPTIONAL service provided by the staff! They knew our names and provided the most personalized, friendly and outstanding service. Dario managed the pool area, which is beautifully decorated by Dolce & Gabbana and took care of us daily. Denise was so friendly and helpful - she coordinated our Pasta Masterclass at the hotel with Chef Webert Williamson and saw to every detail being perfect. The class was held in one of the Four Seasons kitchens where we learned to make 3 different types of pastas. Chef Webert was kind, skilled and patient in teaching amateurs how to create home made pasta. The Concierge was instrumental in booking restaurants and transportation in a timely manner. Our driver, Ignazio, was knowledgeable about Italy and made the ride to and from the airport relaxing and informative. Every single member of the staff provided exceptional and friendly service and although this is what you expect at the Four Seasons, they went way above and beyond exceptional. We cannot wait to return!

Wow! This hotel is a dream! Located on beautiful grounds of Italian gardens! The traditional charm meets a modern elegance, We stayed in a large suite that was bigger than anything I expect in Europe. We had enough room for all our luggage since we were traveling through Europe for a month. My 3 kids were spoiled with goodies, balloons, and treated like royalty. There were great accommodations for my baby with crib, diapers, wipes, all baby essentials. The breakfast was delicious, Staff was exceptional. This hotel goes on my top list for service! The poolgrounds and views were breathtaking! The housekeeping team was impeccable! Everything was cleaned to the tee. I walked in on them once and they were doing a full review of their cleaning with a checklist and all. The hotel left beautiful gifts of quality daily for us. Concierge was amazing! We had a hiccup with a restaurant reservation and they quickly figured it out for our family. From the staff outside the hotel to the staff inside greeted each of us by formal name, never forgetting our faces each time they encounter you. On the day we were leaving, there was a fire on the island which closed the airport down, The front desk staff were so attentive and on it. They came to inform us and rebooked our flights out of Palermo, contacted our next hotel to arrange airport transfers for our new flights, and arranged for immediate transportation to Palermo (a 3 hour drive). I was so impressed that in such a stressful situation, I barely had to lift a finger. I will forever be grateful to the staff and the service they gave us and the warm hospitality my family received throughout the entire stay. We definitely would love to visit again and can't stop raving to everyone about how amazing this hotel was!

We just returned home from an amazing 12 day trip to Sicily with our 2 college aged kids. We spent our last 5 days in Taormina and it was unanimously our favorite. The FS San Domenico Palace is a spectacular, magical place that we all loved. We stayed in the convento suite and my kids stayed in a double room on the Grand Hotel side — both sets of accommodations were excellent, the bathroom in the suite was particularly great. The towels and bathrobe are the softest we have ever felt, we only wish we could purchase them for our home! The location was perfect, for touring around Taormina on foot, for access to great local restaurants and as a jumping off point for touring the region. The service was excellent, when we had an issue with our AC, the hotel was extremely responsive, fixing it immediately and even comping us drinks while we waited for maintenance to finish. The in room dining staff went above and beyond to make sure we were set up on our terrace for dinners for 4, making sure we had a table large enough and chairs comfortable enough for the 4 of us.
We all fell in love with Sicily, Taormina, and the FS San Domenico Palace and can’t wait to return!

Dear Erin, Thank you for your interest in our Bar & Chiostro. Please note that for the bar we don't take reservations because it is on walk in basis so you can stop by the same day and ask if there is availability. However to high occupancy of the hotel and limited seats most of the time could be fully committed with hotel guests. Thank you!
