#37 of 92 hotels in Taormina
Eurostars Monte Tauro Built on the slope of a bluff, the Eurostars Monte Tauro 4* allows you to perfectly appreciate, from its terraces that follow the outline and curves of the coast, the immensity of the Ionian Sea and the beauty of the Gulf of Naxos. Its excellent location near Taormina’s historic city centre on the Sicilian coast allows you to discover the charm of classical antiquity that the city conserves in buildings like the Greco-Roman theatre. The large panoramic pool of the Eurostars Monte Tauro 4* allows you to enjoy the sensation of being suspended above the sea. Its views and refined designs featuring exotic woods, finishing touches of silk, plants and exclusively-designed furniture complete a luxurious stay on this beautiful Mediterranean island. The final touch is the original bar which is decorated with beautiful paintings and the spectacular restaurant that looks out on the Bay of Naxos where you can enjoy exquisite Sicilian and Mediterranean cuisine, as well as an excellent breakfast.

The staff at the hotel was so welcoming and friendly and did their utmost to make us happy. Our room was facing the sea and the view was breathtaking ! The price for one night was not that expensive. You can drop your luggages at the hotel and than we parked at Porta Pasquale parking for 14euro for one day. which was around 5minute walk away. The breakfast was good and with a great choice of sweet and savory options such as bacon, scrambled eggs and local homemade cakes. They also had gluten free options. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel because if you sleep in this romantic and beautiful town nestled in the mountains you better sleep with a lovely view such as this hotel can offer !!

We stayed here in 2015 with our family. The location of the hotel is perfect within walking distance from the centre of Taormina. Views are gorgeous. However, it is really expensive and the staff quite rude. The breakfast cheffs get frustrated if you ask them to actually make you eggs and disturb their chilling.

Really beautiful views across the bay to Giardini Naxos and beyond, and some balconies (as mine did) have sight of Etna looking hard to the right (all rooms appear to have a sea view of some kind and are quite large). Also a great location in terms of proximity to the centre of Taorima and its many shops, restaurants and sights, and it is also adjacent to the quirky English Garden. However, its a shame that whilst this was obviously a modern and chic hotel when built (in the 70's?) it is now tired and in need of an update. The exterior and balcony area is bare concrete and very unattractive. The wooden floors both in the room and balcony area are worn, the room itself (although clean and reasonably spacious) lacked any character or decoration (no pictures on the walls for example) and the minibar fridge had nothing in it. This was compounded by the fact that there was no room service and the restaurant (except to serve breakfast) and bar were closed while I was there. The pool was also closed, even though it was October and the weather was still hot...this was annoying as it was full, blue and looked very tempting from my balcony! I guess these lack of facilities were due to Covid but not because the closures were mandated by the authorities, it seemed that it was the decision of the hotel in order to save money/manage staffing given the lack of guests. So I would just bear that in mind if you are reading this post-Covid, i.e. hotels are having a pretty hard time right now and this is presumably not the norm. My impression of the hotel may have been coloured by this, however I see this is a 3-star hotel in terms of quality and service. But if they give credit simply for views and location when allocating stars, then I can see why it's a 4 star.

We were surprised with this hotel, it's located in a very beautiful place and just a 2 minute walk to Corso Umberto, the main walking street in Taormina. You get spectacular views both from the room and the pool. Been already twice before to Taormina but this hotel was next level! We will definitely visit again!

Booked at very short notice when our trip to Portugal was cancelled. Didn’t have much time to research but despite this we chose a really nice hotel. The hotel is positioned half way up the cliff face. The lobby is on the top floor and then you descend to the rooms and the pool. The lift is on the outside so you have a great view as you go up and down. We had a junior suite with a terrace. It’s huge. So much space. Even has a walk-in wardrobe. The terrace is also huge with space for 2 loungers and table & chairs. The view across the bay is spectacular. The decor is plain and dated but clean and well-kept. The hotel is on the edge of the town and it takes just a few minutes to reach the bars, cafes, restaurants and shops in the old lanes. It’s uphill from the hotel and a little steep in places. But not that bad. It’s accessible by car down a narrow street. Our driver was able to drop us off outside the door. But our pick-up driver refused to drive down and we had to drag our suitcases up the hill to his car in 30 degree heat. Not impressed but that’s not the hotel’s fault. The hotel seemed quite. And most days the loungers around the pool were full. I wonder what it’s like when it’s busy because there just wouldn’t be enough room for everyone. We could get drinks and snacks from the pool bar. The main bar and restaurant were both closed because of COVID which was a shame. Would have been nice to enjoy a drink on their terrace overlooking the bay. We had a great stay. Highly recommended.
