This was used by our tour group and we really would have liked more time at the hotel, so we skipped one day's itinerary and spent the day around the hotel and taormina, We enjoyed the whole experience, the views from the front of the hotel are breathtaking (Etna covered in snow ) and sitting there with a drink before...

Our third stay at the Excelsior Palace and we are looking forward to going back again already. The hotel is spectacularly positioned to take in views of Etna, the Greek theatre and the stunning Sicilian coast. The views from the pool and sun lounging areas are the best we have ever experienced. The hotel is also ideally located for visiting...

Just had 5 nights staying at the Excelsior Palace. I found the rooms to be a good size, the bathroom to be a little dated with low water pressure. The staff were very helpful with anything we asked about including transfers to Catania airport. Although the hotel is a little tired it makes up for that with its stunning views...

Very disappointing hotel. It is very old and in much need of updating. We spent 4 nights there. The room was large but very old. They had updated the bathroom BUT it was so poorly laid out that one foot was in the shower when you used the toilet. ( I'm not kidding). They have a beautiful bar area and...

This hotel is really well positioned at the end of Taormina's main street. From our balcony (although small) in room 226 on 2nd floor we had the most wonderful views of Mount Etna and a great lateral sea view. Our room was very comfortable, spacious and cool with its high ceilings and furnishings which were in keeping with the rest...

In a dominant position one end of Taormina's main street, the Excelsior Palace, built in 1904, possesses old-fashioned but genuine charm. Rooms are somewhat baronial in flavour, the bar is like a gentlemans' club but the dining room is more modern in feel. The hotel has a terrace and pool down the hillside. My favourite view was from the terrace...

This hotel was probably the place to stay at in the 1920s. It had an amazing location and having said that , there's a lot to be desired. The light in the rooms is awful and so reading is not easy. The fixtures, pillows, and so much more need an update really bad. I could go on but needless to...

A well kept, old style (1904) hotel with very friendly and helpful staff at the end of the main street in Taormina. Our room lacked power sockets, which is unfortunate these days and the pool while very nice is a fair walk and many stone steps from the hotel so be prepared. However great location and great views!

Although the Excelsior has a slightly faded grandeur, it more than makes up for this by excellent service, superb position and attention to detail, even providing a packed lunch to accommodate a problem diet.

Wonderful situation at the South end of the main street of Taormina with views either over the sea or Etna (our room had two small balconies and both views). Style emulates its age (111 years) but the rooms have been brought up to date and are very comfortable with air-con, comfortable beds and good showers and bathrooms. Pool area lovely...
