I stayed for five nights. First, the location is near Train Station. You can walk to the touristic places in 20 minutes. Second, room is clean and bed is comfortable. Bathroom are two in each floor but very clean. Third, kitchen is in every floor and you don't have to wait for your turn when cooking in the evening. Last,...

The hostel had no lockers, so we were a little worried about our bags. Also, another person was transferred from floor one (we were on floor 3) because someone came into their room at night, tried to steal a phone and a variety of items from the room, and were then yelled at when this traveller woke up and noticed...

I slept in a four bed dorm on a floor with 4 rooms. We shared 2 really nice bathrooms which were really clean and the rainforest shower was amazing! The kitchen has many cooking tools and two fridges give enough space. In the night it was really quiet and the AC did a good job! The location of the hostel...

This hostel was close to the train station and the lady at the front was nice. It was a nice place to take a shower and sleep and continue our trip in the morning. A little coffee shop right down the street was a nice place to grab something to eat. Me and my friend would stay here again if...

Generally, this place is quite good. It is very near to the train station. The room and beds are very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is also very good. You can cook whatever you want. There is also a TV in the room.

Ciao hostel is an excellent place to stay in florence. It is located at 10 minutes walking distance from railway station. The room was very big, clean, and comfortable, with a good working air condition. The city centre and food stuff is easily accessible.

I spent there four nights in a mixed room on ground floor. Although it was a mixed room, during my stay there was only one guy in the room. I arrived there a bit late at night (11 pm) because my train was late (a very common thing in Italy :P) which was a problem because the hostel reception works...

This accommodation was what you might expect from a quiet hostel on the edge of town. It was close to the main train station which was very convenient and about a 25 minute walk to the Duomo. We walked everywhere during our stay but there was transportation that stopped close to the hostel if that is your preferred mode of...

It was a nice place with a very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms, beds, and bathrooms were all great. My biggest issue was probably where this place is located. I didn't sleep well because of the constant car horns outside, but that might just be me. Cheap place too.

They provide everything you'd want from a hostel here. The rooms are spacious, clean and affordable. There are kitchens to cook. Great location. The staff even let us keep our bags there for a day when we weren't staying in the hostel. Would book here again.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
