The hotel is basically an apartment in a residential building that was converted for renting out the rooms. It's on the third floor and there is no elevator. However, b/c of all this you get the feeling you are living in Florence, and not just visiting. The view at the back is wonderful, a hill full of olive trees. It...

My daughter and I stayed at Michelangelo Guesthouse for 6 nights at the end of Sept. We were warmly welcomed by Vanni the manager on our arrival and he helped us with our luggage. Our lovely room had a little balcony which overlooked a delightful garden. During our stay Vanni was always available to help us and often went out...

My wife, I and my two grown up children stayed here for two nights. The rooms are clean and efficient with enough space for 4 people to spend the night. The location is in a quite neighborhood and the guesthouse is actually an apartment. The A/C took sometime to cool the room, other than that the stay was pleasant and...

My girlfriend and I stayed for 6 nights in June. First off, be conscious that you need to give the manager a heads up on your arrival time. I didn't do that and there was no one there when we arrived (totally my fault, I was forewarned). At any rate after a short interval at a local restaurant, I got...

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Michelangelo Guesthouse for two nights in mid-June and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My wife and I stayed at the Guesthouse for a short 3 day visit to Florence, and it was perfect. We were excited to be on the other side of the river, away from the hustle and bustle of the city center and the hoards of tourists that are there during the summer months. The location was within easy walking...

This was a beautiful spot to be in Florence! I travel a lot, and to me, the most important things I look for in a place to stay are the service, plenty of space in the room, clean and comfortable, and a good location. The warm welcome and friendly, helpful, accommodating service here were fantastic; the room was large and...

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
