We stayed on level4, in a double superior room with a queen size bed however this bed was more like a king (Australian standards). The hotel was lovely and very spacious. Close to the train station (<5mins walk) and literally walking distance to all the sites in florence. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was also served on...

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about L'Orologio. we are very glad that you enjoyed our comfortable king size double bed, the interior and atmosphere of our boutique hotel. We are sorry and surprised by the noise problem at 2:00 in the morning since our bar closes at midnight. Furthermore the rooms on the...

We spent a night in this hotel in August and had a very nice experience. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable, you get what you paid for. Our room was on the second floor and had a window to the street but the street noise was relatively moderate and there was no noise from inside the hotel. The furniture...

We stayed here this past week for two nights and wish we had stayed longer. It was located easy walking distance from the train (our mode of transportation) and was a great location to explore Florence. The room was amazing and the staff were extremely helpful I can't say enough great things about the hotel. Breakfast was delicious with a...

We stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions in July a total of 8 nights. The location is great. Close to the station (don't waste money on a taxi!), and walking distance to all the major sites. There is also an abundance of good places to eat across all price ranges. We were initially concerned that our room was a...

We stayed for 4 nights. Two rooms (one suite and one "regular" with view) on the 5th floor. The hotel was in a prime spot with easy access to all the sites we visited. Did not have a problem locating the hotel as I had looked at the pictures on TA prior to departure so all looked "very familiar" to...

My husband and I spent 3 nights (2 - 5 Aug) at this hotel and we couldn't fault it. It's in such a great location, only a 5 minute walk from the train station and located right on Piazza Santa Maria Novella. It was a little tricky to find at first it because the street numbers don't appear to be...

Nicely renovated, clean, but the room was full of noise during our stay. Strange voices emanating from the bathroom and the ceiling. People cleaning the stairs at early hours in the morning, nice looking gym, but completely useless if you are looking to do any proper training. And you might as well miss the hotel due to the small signage...

Great hotel probably the nicest room and bathroom we stayed in during our recent visit to Italy. Room Overlooked beautiful square, as did the breakfast room on upper level of the hotel. The Bar on the ground floor of the hotel was also very nice. Would have no problem recommending this centrally located hotel to anyone planning a visit to...

My husband and I were in Italy for our honeymoon. We found this hotel via Trip Advisor. The hotel was great! The location is good (right in a square). Was walking distance from any of the main attractions in Florence. The customer service was great. Hotel was very clean and had a modern feel to it. Would recommend.

I've been there last july, travelling with my teenagers. I arrived at Firenze by train, and was really glad that the hotel was so close to to the main station. Later I realized that this hotel is really close from everything that I wanted to visit, so for the 6 days of our stay, we simply walked everywhere. Our room...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
