Beautiful hotel in great location. Excellent beds and amenities with marble bathrooms. Location can't be beat. Staff goes out of their way to help and give you a good experience. Breakfast was wonderful with a full array of hot and cold dishes in an excellent setting. The theme of the hotel is clocks and watches with some incredible pieces around...

We spent three nights at the Hotel L'Orologio. It is a beautiful hotel. The room was lovely, and comfortable and the bathroom was huge and well appointed. The breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room had a beautiful view. The staff was helpful, the location was very convenient, and overall we couldn't be happier with our stay!

The location of the hotel is perfect, and the interior of the hotel and the appointments as very nice. Unfortunately, we were placed in room 114, which is a very dark and noisy junior suite with no exterior light or windows to the outside of the hotel, and very limited lighting in the room. Instead, this is the only room...

We spent 3 nights of our honeymoon at Hotel L'Orologio. It is a quick walk from the train station.... but it is hard to find the hotel at first since there is not much signage and our map application on the old IPHONE wasn't being very helpful. Our room was great and pretty spacious. The bath was wonderful. A HUGE...

We spent three nights at the L'Orologio in the summer of 2012. We had a room on the top floor with a post card view of the Duomo. The room was spacious, modern and comfortable. The staff was very helpful providing help and recommendations for all our activities. The location was great. An easy walk to man touristy attractions; public...

We had passed this very stylish hotel on our many trips to Florence and this year we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We chose a room with a view over the stunning Florentine skyline and this just served to emphasise the hotel's central location for all the key landmarks. Breakfast was lavish in continental terms...

We had such a great experience here. We went to check in and there was a service issue with our room so they asked if we would mind staying at their sister hotel the Santa Maria Novella for one night (which was 50 feet away) and then we could come back to Hotel L'O for the rest of our stay....

This beautifully appointed hotel located on the Santa Maria Novella plaza is close to all the top attactions of the city - the Duomo, Medici Palace, Ponte Vecchio, etc. It is also close to the best shops and fine dining. The breakfast, which was included with the room, was excellent and included many options for all appetites. The bar is...

This is a great boutique hotel in Florence. The location makes it easy to get off the train and walk to the hotel. It is also a short walk to all the sights of Florence. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms were marble and newer. Our room had a/c, a safe and lots of hanging space for clothes. Although...

On our first night in Florence we were moved to this hotel when our booked hotel overbooked. It turned out to be a very nice hotel. The breakfast was very nice in a room with a view. The watch motif was very interesting to see. One word of warning...it seems in Florence they use very small area rugs on very...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
