Hotel Macchiaioli was a great place to stay for our honeymoon! It's in a great location, right down the street from the Duomo and everywhere we wanted to walk. The breakfast had a nice spread and the cappuccinos were made by an attendant (not a machine). The bed was comfortable, the room was very spacious and we a nice balcony...

The Hotel dei Macchiaioli had everything we looked for in a hotel: great location, quiet, clean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff and a buffet breakfast. The most interesting room was the breakfast room with the paintings on its ceiling. While it was no problem for us, there wasn't an elevator. We loved that from our hotel we could walk to...

The Florence of the Medici, Michelangelo, Brunelleschi, museums, churches and palaces is actually quite a small area. This hotel, about 250m from the cathedral of Brunelleschi's dome, just couldn't be better placed for being able to walk to anything that you would wish to see or visit. Strange entry and no lift to the first floor (although the highly attentive...

Nice Picture! Don't judge a Hotel by the entry to a building where the Hotel is on Floor 1, after a 2 story walk up. No help either, with luggage. Hotel has 14 rooms. We checked in on Friday at 5:30PM. We prepaid for 5 nights. Room needed painting, bed was hard as a rock, pillows were flat. Window view...

We had a tremendous stay here. The hotel is perfectly located for many of Florence's wonderful tourist spots, being just minutes' walk away from the likes of the Ufizzi Gallery and Michelangelo's David, just to mention a couple. Service was outstanding; very friendly and accommodating for all our needs.

The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect. We were within easy walking distance of major sights, restaurants, and the train station. The hotel staff were friendly and so helpful with recommendations and reservations with restaurants, and directions to some of the sights we were most interested in. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed, with a gorgeous fresco on...

The hotel was in an excellent location, handy for all the main sights. The rooms were spacious and had lovely hot showers. The breakfasts were adequate but have liked some fresh fruit with yoghurt rather than tinned. Very helpful, pleasant staff. Would recommend this hotel.

The hotel was literally down the street from the Duomo. Excellent location. The staff was extremely helpful (except for one guy who pretty much shrugged his shoulders when I told him the Internet wasn't working). The breakfast was very good as well. The room was very small but adequate. The bathroom was also very small, and showering was a little...

This hotel is 2 blocks from the Duomo and minutes to all other attractions. Francesca and Paolo are excellent hosts. Our room is speechlessly beautiful and spacious for a family of 4. The decorated high ceiling is true a piece of art. Bathroom is very modern and very clean with plenty of supplies. It is no question that this hotel...

We are a family of four, sometimes difficult to find accommodations to suit our needs. We were deciding between two hotels and both agreed Maccchiaioli was the perfect location and had character we won't find anywhere else. When arriving, you go as if entering the Leonardo daVinci museum. There is a door on the left upon entering. So many great...
