Helvetia & Bristol is an old world hotel in a great location in the old section of Florence. You are welcomed into a warm and inviting lobby, and then by an outstanding staff. I interacted with several members of the front desk and concierge staff, and they were all excellent, including helping me with services where other hotels would normally...

I agree with previous reviews. This is a great location for walking to all the major sites. The front desk were accomodating when we asked to move our children's room closer. The breakfast had adequate choices. Nice lobby. My only negatives are that there should be free wi-fi and despite the grand nature of the hotel the carpeting needs updated...

The Helvetia & Bristol Hotel is perfectly located in Florence. You are within walking distance to all of the major sights (and across the street from Louis Vuition and Cartier; we had a corner room and a view of both, much to my wife's delight). Another plus, is Alessandro Marchese, the Head Concierge. Alessandro arranged a private guide for us...

This is a very pretty old, style hotel with very accommodating staff. They helped us to arrange a walking tour of the city with a wonderful art historian/tour guide, Maddalena Veri, and gave us dinner recommendations each night. The location can't be beat. We were traveling as a group of 5 and the hotel upgraded us to two adjoining rooms...

My husband & I stayed here 7/9-7/12 as part of a Tauck tour of Venice, Florence and Rome. The Helvetia is perfectly located in the center of everything you could want to see in the historic center of Florence. Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
