This is an wonderful historic but well-modernized boutique hotel in a quieter part of Florence. It's close to the synagogue and only kosher Restaurant (Ruth's) in Florence, so it suited our large family well. The service was good, attentive and understated. The rooms were large, well-appointed and luxurious, and included a nightly turn-down service, a bar fridge, and fabric-covered walls,...

Beautiful room and great bathroom! Staff was very accommodating. Breakfast had many options from fruit, to eggs, bacon, and pastries. Cappuccinos were great. Great hair dryer. Areas to improve: wifi and cell service was very very poor in the hotel. Also, we booked museum ticket reservations with the hotel - we found out after the fact that the tickets were...

I just returned from a vacation with 2 girlfriends in Italy. It can be difficult in Europe to find a hotel room for 3 people, and this hotel worked out great! We had a room with a king bed and 1 rollaway bed, and it was very clean. Even with the extra bed, we still had room for 3 suitcases...

This is a beautiful little hotel. 10 min walking from The Duomo. With excelent service. Nice staff even do italian tend to be a little agressive. We always felt welcome with smiles in their faces. Our only low point was that our room was close to a staff elevator. So we wake up at 5:00 am every day. We didn'...

They let us pick a room , one more lovely than the other. Although I wanted a...

We had a delightful stay that was only made possible by the exceptional staff at this hotel. The air conditioning in the rooms was great. The breakfast was wonderful. The concierge was very helpful and recommended wonderful restaurants.

This hotel was a fantastic place to stay while in Florence. A short walk to the Duomo and shopping. Gorgeous building, staff was VERY friendly and helpful. Wife and I were in Italy celebrating our 30th anniversary and received a complimentary bottle of champagne from the hotel! Loved having breakfast in the garden. Ate only one dinner at the restaurant...

Quality boutique hotel close to the old part of Florence. Excellent service and welcoming staff. Within walking distance of all the museums and churches. If the legs get tired there is a good bus service within two hundred yards.

Very quiet hotel overall. We had a room at the back of the hotel and slept very soundly. Rooms are older with high ceilings and comfortable beds. Lack of outlets in the room for computers and very slow internet speed detract from the overall experience of staying here. Highlight was the breakfast buffet. The service and food are both excellent....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Once upon a time when the city of Florence was the Italian Capital, Hotel Regency served as a retreat to high government officials and ministers of the State. Today, the nineteenth century villa located in the heart of Florence is a five star property and a long time member of the prestigious "The Small Luxury Hotels". The hotel overlooks pristine Piazza D'Azeglio, framed by monasteries, ancient cloisters, famous museums, the Synagogue and, even more impressive, maintains the private villa-like air, ensuring travellers a memorable experience. ... more   less
