What a great little hotel. My wife and I booked in for two nights without being quite sure what we were getting, and we were very pleasantly surprised. A small doorway on a lane way just steps from the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi takes you into a charming if slightly quirky little world where you can squirrel away after... More

We stayed in the Hermitage in October for three nights. The rooms was comforable overlooking the small square next to the hotel. It can be noisy from activity in the square. There was a function in the former church one evening. The bathroom was very nice with a jacuuzi tub. The hotel front desk staff was very accomodating. The breakfast... More

We just spent three wonderful days in Florence staying at Hotel Hermitage. You could not find a better location, right at the foot of the Ponte Vecchio and less than two blocks from the Uffizzi Gallery. The hotel has a wonderful roof terrace which provides a great place to unwind after long days sightseeing. It also has a small but... More

Perfect location and a roof terrace with spectacular views of the Arno and the town. We highly recommend drinks at sunset on the terrace - what a beautiful treat. Service was great: we had called before arrival asking if they could help us to obtain skip the line tickets for the Accademia to see David (which we could not obtain... More

The Hotel Hermitage is more like a pensione than a full-service hotel. But its slightly frayed charm, the exquisite flower-filled roof terrace, and the wonderful people who've managed it for the past 25 years, make it the best value, and most-centrally located spot to stay in Florence's Historic District.

The location could not be better -right by the Ponte Vecchio and you can walk to all the great sights in minutes. We loved the beautiful breakfast room and the terrace. This is an old building with lots of charm. It was very clean.

Hotel is located within a few yards of the Ponte Vecchio, so easy access to central part of the city. Some rooms have view of the bridge and Arno River, but hotel has a patio on the 6th floor that has views and is a beautiful spot for breakfast or to relax. Staff is very professional and responds to all... More

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Hermitage for four nights while in Florence. I adored this hotel for many reasons. The location was perfect, by the river in the center of the city, only a short stroll from major landmarks and museums, and a 10 min taxi ride to the train station. The Rooms are spacious, comfortable, well maintained,... More

The Hotel Hermitage is centrally located and easy to walk to surrounding sights. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had requested a river view and the room was as expected with a nice view. Breakfast was included and was very good with a nice variety. Rooftop deck was a nice place to relax after a long day of walking.

We loved the roof top, you can get great pictures up there. One of our rooms could have used some updating in the bathroom but other than that it was a great place. Everyone working there was very helpful. The rooms weren't ready when we got there but they held our bags for us and tried to get them ready... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries.
