My daughter and I started our visit to Italy in Florence and stayed 3 nights at Morandi Alla Crocetta. The hotel was perfect for us. The rates were more than reasonable, the room was comfortable and quite lovely (it included a good-sized terrace where we could sit outside), and it was in a central location. We were able to walk...

My Mom and I stayed at Morandi alla Crocetta for three nights. The location is close to everything, but not too central or busy. Our room was lovely, comfortable and we were upgraded with a patio. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

This little hotel--12 rooms maybe--was in the heart of Florence and well within walking distance of most of the must see places. Rooms were large as were the bathrooms. The AC worked quite well. Breakfast was included, but it was really not much more than a snack.

We stayed for 5 nights at the Hotel Morandi and we could not have been happier with our choice. It is on a quiet street about 7 minutes to the Duomo. The hotel is charming but the real higlight is the staff. Maurizio, Roland and Christiano could not have been more helpful. They made restaurant reservations for us 3 nights...

This is my 3rd stay at this hotel, though it's been 5 years since I last visited. It's just as wonderful as ever ! The location (near the Accademia and L'Ospedale degli Innocenti) is wonderful as it's on a quiet side street but within walking distance to everything. It was a convent and the rooms are all unique and special....

The Morandi is a small hotel located in a former convent near the Academia museum in Florence. It's easy to walk to most major attractions. Each room is unique, with some more spacious than others. The beds are comfortable, and the hotel is in a quiet location. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful with securing dinner reservations, tours, museum entrance...

A former convent in a super location, this hotel is a classy and quiet oasis in the touristy hub-bub of central Florence. The rooms are clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. The staff is extremely professional, courteous and helpful. It has a chill vibe to it that is perfect after a hectic day of sight-seeing. Highly recommended for romantic getaways and...

We stayed in a family room (boys aged 10 and 6 yrs) for 5 nights in August 2016. The hotel is a former convent and has a great deal of charm. Breakfast is served in a small dining room and you may need to wait a few minutes for a table but this isn't a problem as they serve you...

Loved this hotel which I had booked last minute traveling alone. Located within walking distance of most attractions around the Duomo and the Acadamie, yet situated on a safe, quiet side street. The rooms are lovely, decorated with antiques and handicrafts made by the nuns that occupied this former convent. The hotel has more history dating back to to the...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
