We were greeted warmly by the staff. Bags were taken to our room immediately by the porter. The room is elegant with a set of pink towels and a set of blue. Complimentary bottles of water were on the desk, and the minibar stocked amply (for a fee if used). A coffee pot was there, something not always found in Italian hotel rooms. The king size bed is nice, but we had trouble with getting the room warm. Even after calling the desk, we could only get the room to 70. If i left the room and took the key with me lights go iff, so ask for a second key card or your spouse will be left in the dark if she does not go with you!

I spend a working weekend at this hotel staying in a very spacious, comfortable and clean room and meeting with colleagues in a nicely appointed meeting room with high ceilings, huge screen and superior wi-fi connection.
Location is also very convenient, since it is close to the river and all the many attraction: it's been good to be able to walk downtown for an aperitif at the end of the meetings.
Breakfast was also plentiful and tasty. Totally recommended

Husband and I stayed here for 3 nights whilst on a short break to Florence. Had a room with a view ( extra cost for this privilege but well worth it). Daily house keeping was excellent.
No drawer storage. Two small drawers in lobby wardrobe. So inconvenient! We lived out of suitcases! There is space for a chest of drawers and, considering room cost, this should be addressed by management. Good lighting, comfortable bed. Great decor in entrance lobby (a water wall) and large reception with comfortable seating. Rooms were mainly orange decor! Breakfast was mostly good. Plenty of fresh fruit, breads, meats, cheeses, cereal and yoghurt. Scrambled eggs were overcooked and bacon was salty and fatty. I'm sure it had been deep fried....so very unhealthy. This needs to be addressed by the management. Overall a comfortable hotel to return to after a day sightseeing. Most tourist sights within a few minutes walk, buses and trams ditto. Both link to railway station and airport.

Overall its an ok hotel. The location is good as its a short walk to the train station and you can walk to Ponte Vecchio Bridge and Duomo. The room was nice but the beds were not that great and there was no a/c - so the entire hotel did not have air conditioning so you had to open the windows - was hot to sleep at night BUT there was noise all night outside the hotel so u did not get a good nights sleep. The breakfast was decent but not a large selection compared to other places and coffee was luke warm. The servers were working overtime to try and accommodate all the guests so maybe it would have helped to have more servers. The housekeeping was good. Our rooms were cleaned every single day. All in all - its ok. Not a bad place but not somewhere I would stay again.

Thanks Sirs for your review and for the evaluation, our beds are equipped with orthopedic mattresses of excellent quality but if they did not suit you, just inform our reception and we could fix it according to your needs. At the end of April this year the temperature was around 22/25 degrees celsius and the conditioned air, also given the particular times we are experiencing, was not necessary. Now, obviously with 28/30 degrees celsius the air conditioning is on and working well throughout the hotel. All our staff, from every department, have had to run a little more in recent months because we have strictly adhered to the anticovid19 provisions of our government, to safeguard the health of our customers and our employees. Have a nice day. Daniele Benelli Assistant Manager

I chose this title because on the streets of Florence, I stumbled upon a hotel/restaurant with a sign that read this, and upon reading and understanding the joke, I said to my children: "This should be written on our hotel..." The expression of finding a hotel to sleep at night was completely violated by this establishment. After finishing two consecutive night shifts at my workplace and enduring a tiring journey, I was looking forward to arriving in Florence and at the hotel to have a few days of rest with my family, but that's precisely what didn't happen.
Out of the 4 nights we spent here, the first two I hardly slept at all. It felt like a haunted room; the lights simply turned on by themselves during the night, and I couldn't turn them off. I had to remove the key card and wait for all the electricity to be shut down, then put the card back in to have the power to charge our phones and have light in the bathroom. It woke everyone up, especially the kids, which was a nightmare. Of course, I complained in the morning, and a technician supposedly came to the room to fix the problem. The second night, totally worn out from exhaustion and lack of sleep, everything was the same. It was 3 in the morning, and I had to call reception to solve the problem, a true hell, and another sleepless night... Finally, the next morning, they decided to move us to another room since they couldn't solve the mystery problem with the lights. So, out of the 4 nights we spent here, 2 of them we didn't sleep or rest at all. Of course, we lodged a complaint because in my opinion, we shouldn't even have to pay for those nights, but without success or any kind of compensation.
Incidents aside, the hotel is worn-out and old, and the decoration is very retro (but understandable since we're in Florence). The bathroom is terrible because you can't take a relaxed shower since the shower floods the entire bathroom floor (for a hotel that claims to care about the environment, it's terrible because I had to use almost all the towels to put them on the floor to walk), the air conditioning didn't work several nights, and the breakfast was very, very poor for a 4-star hotel.
For me, the only positive points were the excellent cleanliness, congratulations to the cleaning staff, and the friendliness of all the hotel staff. Unfortunately, these positive aspects are not enough to compensate for all the other negative aspects. The hotel is extremely expensive for what it offers; there are undoubtedly better options to stay in Florence.

I can't do 3.5 stars in the rating above, but this is what I would give this hotel as it's better than 3 stars, but not quite 4. I stayed with a friend for a few nights in May. There was nothing terribly wrong with this hotel, it was just "fine." The location was less than favorable, though it was near the train station, which helped coming in and leaving the city. Other than that, the location was far from the famous sites, at least a good 20 minute walk. Our room was clean, but basic. We had issues getting additional blankets and toilet paper, despite numerous requests. The staff was friendly, but not overly helpful. There was a bar and a garden in the back of the hotel, but not once could we locate a bartender to order food or drinks. We ended up going to the grocery store around the corner and buying our own food and drinks and sat in the garden 2 nights of our stay. I can't badmouth the hotel, again, there was nothing wrong with it. But, it left a lot to be desired.

Thank you Mrs. Allison for your review and I am sorry that you did not have a great time in our hotel; usually our position is considered very favorable by the overwhelming majority of our customers since it takes about 10 minutes on foot to reach the Ponte Vecchio or the Duomo and not 20. Our bar was open and functioning but in May we had several restrictions for the Covid still in force which prevented us from working in complete tranquility and also our barman was present and in case of absence it was enough to inform the reception and we would have arrived immediately. However, I apologize to you if we have not completely lived up to your expectations. Sincerely. Daniele Benelli Assistant Manager

My wife, two adult sons, and I spent 2 nights at the Grand Hotel Adriatico during our recent trip to Europe. The hotel is located within walking distance of the main train station in Europe and was very close to where we picked up our rental car. It also was relatively close to many of the main attractions in Florence. However, beyond location, there wasn't much else positive to say about the hotel. The rooms were very dark, dated and very much in need of a refresh and, besides the cappuccino (which was one of the better ones we had in Italy), the breakfast was quite poor (both by American and European standards). We struggled to get the air conditioning to get the room to a comfortable temperature during our stay and the shower was so small to be almost unusable. We would strongly suggest that you find somewhere else to stay in Florence.

Negative = The most expensive hotel I have ever stayed in and not really worth it. Air conditioning not working. Absolutely boiling in the room. Bathroom stinks of sewerage. No information given by reception staff when we checked-in. In fact, we were made to feel like a nuisance everytime we tried to speak to the reception staff.

Positives = the housekeeping staff kept our room clean and gave little gifts which was much appreciated. Location was convenient. The staff in the restaurant were very attentive.

Recently stayed here with family over Christmas. Hotel was clean and comfortable with good options available for breakfast. A range of different pillows are available on request, which certainly helped us to sleep better. Easy walking distance to the main historic areas of the city. About 5-10 minutes walk from the train station. Would recommend this hotel.

We have just spent 3 days at the Grand Hotel Adriatico. It was our first visit to Florence - it will not be our last. The City is beautiful, the food is amazing and history abounds.
Our visit was made all the better by staying at the Grand Adriatico. It is perfectly located for all attractions the City has to offer. The staff were all extremely helpful, the room was comfortable and very well maintained to a high standard of cleanliness by the housekeeping staff.
The included breakfast was a delight offering a cooked option of scrambled eggs and bacon, a substantial array of cakes, pastries and breads - all freshly baked, cold meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and cereals. The waiting staff were attentive.
In my view, and I have travelled extensively, the Grand Hotel Adriatico offered excellent value for money. We will be returning to Florence and we will be staying at the Grand Adriatico again when we do.
